Exclusive: Kasımpaşa Plot Renewed Move for Burnley Flop Michael Obafemi
Turkish club Kasimpaşa is set to revive their interest in Burnley's Michael Obafemi next summer after a failed transfer in July. Obafemi's time at Burnley has been disappointing, and both parties are eager for a fresh start. The club hopes to recoup some of the £3.5million they paid for him in 2023.

Turkish club Kasimpaşa will reignite their pursuit of Burnley’s Michael Obafemi next summer, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.
A transfer was agreed but fell through in July, but our sources have been told the Turkish Super Lig club are still interested in the striker.
It is understood Obafemi travelled to Turkey to complete the move before it was reportedly called off due to an issue between the player and Burnley over unpaid wages.
And it is also understood the only potential stumbling block this time around will be the fee and the structure of the payments between the two clubs.
Obafemi’s time at Turf Moor has been less than memorable and the club are desperate to get the Republic of Ireland international off the books.
Our sources have been told both parties want a fresh break.
The 25-year-old is currently on loan at Bundesliga 2 club Bochum looking to reignite his staling career and he will have one year left on his Burnley contract when he returns at the end of the season.
Clarets’ bosses are hoping of recouping some of the £3.5million they paid for the player in 2023.
If the price is right, Kasımpaşa could look to revive the deal as early as January and move to override his loan spell in Germany, provided a permanent transfer agreement can be reached.
Kompany Flop
Signed in the Vincent Kompany era, Obafemi was highly regarded by the now Bayern Munich boss.
The club saw numerous offers for the player rebuffed by Swansea City in the summer of 2022.
He eventually moved to the club, on an initial loan with an option to buy, the following January before making the move permanent that summer.
But he made just 16 appearances for the Clarets, scoring twice, and is not part of the club's plans.
He had two failed Championship loan moves, first with Millwall, scoring twice in 14 games, and then with Plymouth Argyle where he scored two goals in 31 appearances as they got relegated last season.
