Steve Bruce is facing the exit door at Blackpool after the club's terrible run of form, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.
The former Newcastle United and Aston Villa boss arrived at Bloomfield Road with an air of expectation surrounding him just over 12 months ago.
A month into his reign Bruce had won his first four games and was named League One Manager of the Month for September.
But it has been a shocking start to the season for the Seasiders and the fans have turned on the well-travelled manager.
The club have lost six of their first nine games this term and have scored just one goal during a winless start on the road.
And our sources have been told results need to improve quickly or Bruce will be axed on the Lancashire coast.
Bruce was backed heavily in the summer as 16 new arrivals came into the club.
And Blackpool were touted among the contenders at the top end of the table this season after assembling a squad on paper to push for a promotion tilt.
Quick Turnaround Needed
Bruce has been a manager for the best part of three decades and knows it is a results-based business.
And he is desperate to turn the club’s faltering fortunes around..
Speaking earlier this month, he said: “Look, he's one of the reasons why I came to the club. The owner is a really, really stable guy who wants his club to do well and that's the reason why I'm here.”
“I want to try to help him get to where he wants to get to. The owner has been nothing but supportive of what I've tried to put in place.”
“He certainly put his hand in his pocket to give us the squad of players, so all I can say is a big thank you to the owner.”
