Fulham are in the process of offering Ryan Sessegnon a new deal, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.

The homegrown talent re-joined the club after he was released by Tottenham Hotspur last summer.

Sessegnon signed a two-year deal back at Craven Cottage with an option of an additional year, which would take him through to the end of next season.

But sources close to the club have said they want to tie the utility man to a new long-term contract in West London.

The 25-year-old has impressed under Marco Silva this season, who has been deployed as a left back so far this season, but usually operates as an inside forward on the wing.

Silva is a huge admirer of the player and sees him as a big part of his plans.

Home Comforts

Sessegnon comes from a talented footballing family. His twin brother Steven plays for Wigan Athletic, whilst cousin Stéphane is a retired Benin international who played for the likes of PSG, Montpellier, Sunderland and West Bromwich Albion.

Ryan and Steven both joined the Fulham academy when they were nine with Ryan going on to make his first team debut aged just 16 and 81 days old.

After scoring 25 goals in 120 appearances for the club he made a £25million move to Tottenham.

But he found limited opportunities at the club, making just six Premier League appearances in his first season before going out on loan to Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga the following year.

Over the next two season he made 32 top flight appearances, mainly off the bench.

In his final year at the club he did not make a single league appearance with his only outing a FA Cup game before he was released at the end of his contract.

Last season, his first back at Fulham, Sessegnon scored four goals in 16 league games after struggling with injury earlier in the campaign.
