Fulham have not given up hope of keeping Harry Wilson beyond this season despite serious mounting interest, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.
The Welsh international’s contract is up at the end of the season and it is understood the player wants to assess all his options before deciding his future.
It is understood Fulham have offered the winger an improved contract to extend his stay at Craven Cottage and negotiations are ongoing between the two parties as Cottagers’ bosses do “everything in their power” to try and keep hold of Willson.
But Wilson has produced the best football of his career this season to give himself a huge bargaining chip at a pivotal point in his career.
Aston Villa are not the only Premier League outfit chasing Wilson’s signature, although it is believed talks between the player’s representatives and the midlands club have taken place.
David Moyes has been impressed by Wilson’s consistent performances this term and sees the 28-year-old as a potential game changer for Everton. Leeds United have also been long term admirers of the wing wizard.
Meanwhile, our sources understand Wrexham are prepared to offer Wilson a chance to return to his hometown with the club.
The Red Dragons are fighting it out for a play-off place and would need to secure promotion to have any chance of signing Wilson, according to sources close to the player.
Contract Up
Signed for £12million from boyhood club Liverpool in 2022, there is a realistic prospect Fulham could lose the player for free this summer.
During his time at the club, Wilson has netted 31 goals in 157 league appearances for the west London outfit, with ten of those coming this season, the first time he has hit double figures in a campaign since joining the club permanently.
