Andy Robertson Exit Sparks Liverpool Interest in Inter Milan's Federico Dimarco

Federico Dimarco, a rising star in the left-back position, is attracting interest from top clubs in England and Spain. While Manchester United and Arsenal are monitoring him, Liverpool may make a move if Andrew Robertson leaves. Real Madrid is also interested but faces Dimarco's loyalty to Inter Milan. Inter values him highly, making any potential transfer challenging. With his contract set to be extended, Dimarco's departure seems unlikely despite his impressive form.

Federico Dimarco, a product of Inter Milan’s youth academy and currently a focal point in the "world’s best left-back" debate, remains firmly on the radar of Premier League and La Liga giants due to his staggering attacking output.

However, the approaches from interested clubs vary significantly as the Summer 2026 window approaches.

Transfer Radar

Dimarco’s statistical explosion this season has mobilised clubs seeking an elite left foot to command the flank.

While Manchester United and Arsenal are closely monitoring Dimarco’s situation, their interest is not currently classified as "high priority." Although scouting reports are being updated regularly, neither club is preparing a concrete bid for this summer; instead, they are observing the player's development and any potential "departure signals" from a distance.

The scenario at Liverpool could prove more critical. Should Andrew Robertson depart or be phased out of the starting XI, it is rumoured that the Reds could make Dimarco their "primary move" for the left-back position. The Anfield hierarchy views the Italian international as the only profile capable of replicating Robertson’s offensive threat.

Last summer, Liverpool splashed out on Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez, but the signing has reportedly failed to impress the Reds’ hierarchy, with concerns mounting that the youngster lacks the physicality required to thrive at Anfield.

Although La Liga giants Real Madrid have added Dimarco to the upper echelons of their shortlist, the player’s deep-rooted loyalty to his boyhood club remains the biggest obstacle to any potential deal.

Valuation and Selling Strategy

The Inter board views Dimarco as more than just a player; he is the club's "flagship player."

Any club looking to open negotiations would likely need to knock on Inter’s door with a minimum offer in the €75m–€80m range. However, sources close to the club suggest that management considers any incoming bids "non-negotiable," routinely rebuffing inquiries from elite clubs with a single phone call.

Inter’s recent return to profitability and expected revenue from departing loanees have eliminated the necessity to sell key assets like Dimarco.

Contract Status and the Loyalty Factor

Dimarco’s current deal expires in 2027, but both parties are already at the table for a "lifetime" extension.

Inter has prepared a new proposal to tie the player to the club until 2030, featuring a significant wage hike. The plan is to elevate his weekly earnings to the highest brackets of Serie A.

Being a lifelong Interista, Dimarco has reportedly instructed his representatives to relay a clear "no intention to leave" message to pursuing giants.

Dimarco is just one step away from breaking the all-time Serie A record of 16 assists. This level of form has elevated him from a mere full-back to the team’s primary playmaker. While a €70m+ "blockbuster" bid from Liverpool, contingent on Robertson’s exit, might force a strategic discussion, Dimarco’s departure from the San Siro is currently viewed as a "miraculous" scenario.
