Having joined Torino from Chelsea in February 2025 for a €13 million fee, Cesare Casadei has forced Premier League clubs into a "regret-filled" pursuit following his dominant displays in Serie A this season.

After towering over the defence to score a header in the recent Napoli-Torino clash, the presence of numerous English scouts alongside Italian observers in the stands was impossible to ignore.

The Premier League vs. Serie A Battle

Casadei’s physical evolution and clinical output have alerted Premier League outfits looking to inject dynamism into their engine room.

Facing a lack of "aerial dominance and combative" profiles in midfield, Everton has identified Casadei as a primary target for the summer window.

In other news, Watford wonderkid Othmane Maamma has caught the eye of Everton after a string of impressive performances this season.

Similarly, West Ham United scouts have reportedly attended three of Torino's matches in the last month, filing reports that the player’s 1.92m frame is 100% compatible with the high-intensity tempo of the Premier League.

Napoli’s scouting department has noted Casadei’s elite "late-arrival" runs into the box. Meanwhile, Fiorentina and Lazio are also lurking as they look to strengthen their domestic player quota.

His recent call-up to the Italy National Team by Luciano Spalletti has officially certified his elite status on the global market.

Technical Observations

Scout reports converge on several key tactical pillars regarding Casadei’s game.

He ranks among the league's best in dual success rates. An incredible 67.5% aerial duel win rate makes him a dominant force in both penalty areas.

His ability to operate as both a "Number 6" (Holding Midfielder) and a "Number 8" (Box-to-Box) offers managers immense tactical flexibility.

Offering more than a traditional midfielder, Casadei displays "striker instincts" during set-pieces and goal-mouth scrambles, proving to be a clinical finisher.

Financial Standing & Torino’s Expectations

Torino is expected to open negotiations in the €35M–€40 million range.

A "sell-on clause" included in the initial agreement with Chelsea is the main motivation for Torino to maintain a high asking price.

A long-term contract running until June 2029 places Torino in a position of ultimate strength at the negotiating table.

Analytical Verdict: Potential Scenarios

If Everton or West Ham submits an offer in the £40M–£45 million bracket, a figure most Serie A clubs cannot match, a return to England becomes the most likely path.

His past experience in the UK significantly strengthens this possibility.

As a rising star for the Azzurri, moving to an Italian heavyweight could allow him to climb the career ladder within his home country.

Should the club secure European qualification, Casadei might remain the "face of the project" for one more season, though the magnitude of incoming bids makes this difficult to sustain.
