Fulham are readying a new contract for Adama Traore, worried the sought-after winger could leave on a free transfer next summer, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.
Our sources have learnt Premier League rivals Nottingham Forest are desperate to try and sign the former Spain international, who is out of contract next June.
And West Ham are also now understood to be keen on trying to sign the playmaker, with new West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo hoping for a reunion with his former Wolves’ charge.
Everton have previously been linked with the winger, but after a busy summer in the transfer market, the Toffees are believed to have cooled their interest in the 29-year-old.
Traore has spent the past two seasons with Fulham and, arguably, been one of the Cottagers’ best players.
He joined the west London club on a free transfer and has been a bit hit at Craven Cottage since his arrival.
Traore signed an initial two-year deal with the club and then agreed a one-year extension to stay for longer.
GROWING INTEREST
But with his deal running down, it’s little surprise interest is growing in his signature with a number of clubs hovering about his signature.
Traore had his first taste of the Premier League with Aston Villa and then with Middlesbrough in the top-flight, before a move to Wolves saw his stock rise after a string of starring performers.
He worked under Espirito Santo for three seasons and played 157 Premier League games for the club, twice finishing seventh in the top-flight under the Portuguese boss.
Traore has played 66 games for Fulham, playing 36 times last season as a mainstay of for the Cottagers who finished a credible 11th place in the Premier League last term.
Capped eight times by his country, Fulham hope Traore will stay with manager Marco Silva as a key player in his future plans.
