Sheffield United are hoping to land former Burnley winger Nathan Redmond, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.
But the 31-year-old ex-England international is also wanted by fellow Championship sides Leicester City and Millwall as a free agent.
Redmond joined the Clarets on a two-year deal in July 2023 but played just 12 times in the Premier League that season and just two games in the Championship the following season.
However, the former Southampton, Birmingham City and Norwich City winger is back and ready to fire after injuries have limited his playing time during the past 12 months.
And a free agent, who has played in ten seasons in the Premier League, seven of which came with the Saints, Redmond’s experience his high-appeal for Championship clubs.
Our sources have learnt the Blades have been in discussions with Redmond and his representatives about a potential move.
But the Foxes, who are desperate to make new signings after a slow window, and the Lions are also interested in recruiting Redmond.
CAREER EXPERIENCE
With 58 goals and 483 career appearances under his belt, Redmond is understandably keen to extend his distinguished career, one which him saw him win promotion to the Premier League with the Canaries back in 2015.
Last season Redmond was plagued with a frustrating hamstring injury and was also sidelined with a calf complaint.
Redmond has been training with the Blades for the past month but, even though staying at Bramall Lane is his preference this season, he is open to offers from other Championship clubs who are interested in his signature.
Former Saints striker Danny Ings and former Burnley defender Ben Mee have also trained with the Blades this summer, with ex-West Ham, Liverpool, Aston Villa, Burnley and West Ham hitman Ings having penned a one-year deal with the South Yorkshire club last week.
