Exclusive: Doncaster Rovers Eye Reunion with Lincoln Striker Rob Street

Doncaster Rovers are eager to reunite with Lincoln City's Rob Street, aiming to sign the talented striker before the transfer window closes. Despite Street's success at Doncaster last season, he is seeking a chance to prove himself in a more central role at League One level. However, competition at Lincoln may push him towards a move.

Doncaster Rovers are hopeful of a League One reunion with Lincoln City’s Rob Street, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.

Grant McCann is desperate to bring in a striker before the end of the transfer window.

The Rovers’ boss is a huge admirer of the player, who helped fire the Yorkshire club to the League Two title last season.

Street, 23, excelled with 12 goals in 22 league appearances during his successful loan spell at the Keepmoat last term as Doncaster bounced back from their play-off heartache to lift the fourth-tier trophy.

It is understood that McCann met with two strikers last week and is confident of signing a hitman before the window shuts.

Street Wants Goals

Street returned to the Imps this summer, but has primarily been used in a wide position despite his success through the middle during his Doncaster spell.

It is understood that the player is desperate for an opportunity to prove he has what it takes to be a regular goal getter at League One level.

But that chance may have to come away from Sincil Bank.

Imps’ boss Michael Skubala plays with just one frontline striker with plenty of competition at the club.

Street is behind Freddie Draper and James Collins in the pecking order and the club added Everton youngster Francis Okoronkwo one loan last week to bolster their strike force.

Street came through the ranks at Crystal Palace and was loaned out Torquay United, Newport County and Shrewsbury Town.

He rejected a new contract at the Eagles in favour of a permanent move to Cheltenham Town in 2023 and scored three goals in 26 appearances.

The youngster penned a four-year deal at Lincoln, for an undisclosed fee, after the Robins were relegated in 2024.
