Exclusive: Scottish Premierside Side Kilmarnock Considering Deal to Sign Former Crystal Palace And Blackpool Winger Malcolm Ebiowei

Former Crystal Palace and Blackpool winger Malcolm Ebiowei could be heading to Scotland after his latest contract was torn up after less than a month, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.

Ebiowei only joined Blackpool on the 5th August on a two-year deal but, after just over 30 days in Lancashire, the club and player agreed to terminate his contact my mutual consent due a personal matter.

And our sources have now learnt Scottish Premiership side Kilmarnock are now interested the former Chelsea and Arsenal youngster.

A short statement on the official Blackpool FC website confirmed: “Blackpool Football Club can announce that Malcolm Ebiowei has left the Club by mutual consent. The Club wishes Malcolm all the best for the future.”

The Killie have made an unbeaten start to life in the Scottish top tier this season with four draws from their opening four fixtures.

    MORE FIREPOWER

But it is understood manager Stuart Kettlewell is hungry to bolster with more firepower for the forthcoming campaign.

Ebiowei’s last appearance for the Seasiders was as a second-half substitute in a 1-0 away defeat to Plymouth Argyle.

However, Pool boss Steve Bruce was happy for the player to leave after just three sub appearances so far this season and with back-up at his disposal following the arrival of Deadline Day signings Josh Bowler and Scott Banks.

Ebiowei joined the Eagles in June 2022 on a five-year contract after a year with Derby County.

But he only played three games for the Premier League club and was sent out on loan to Hull City, Belgian side RWD Molenbeek and Oxford United having been surplus to requirements at Selhurst Park.

It looked as though the former England Under-20 international had got his career back on track when he signed for the Seasiders, but his stay at Bloomfield Road was short-lived.
