Exclusive: Burnley Weigh Emotional Sean Dyche Return Amid Scott Parker Uncertainty

Burnley are considering bringing back Sean Dyche as manager, potentially replacing Scott Parker. Dyche, who was previously sacked in 2022, is highly regarded by the club's fans for his successful tenure and could provide a much-needed revitalization for the struggling team. He is open to returning but would require control over recruitment and other aspects of the club's operations.

Burnley are contemplating the possibility of offering Sean Dyche the chance to make what would be an emotional return to Turf Moor if Scott Parker is relieved of his duties this summer, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.

Although last weekend’s draw with Chelsea will have lightened his mood, Parker has become a disillusioned and emotionally broken figure at times this season as the Clarets struggle to acclimatise to life back in the Premier League.

Given their struggles since being promoted under Parker last term, our sources have been told Turf Moor’s hierarchy believe a change at the helm could be necessary in order to revitalise the entire football club.

And Dyche’s shock sacking by Forest after only four months in charge has prompted them to look at rehiring the manager they parted company with soon after acquiring a majority stake in Burnley six years ago.

Dyche has also been linked with an immediate return to the dugout at West Bromwich Albion, who are weighing up the future of Eric Ramsay after a dismal start to his tenure.

Turf Moor Return

Dyche is still revered by Clarets fans after twice leading them into the top-flight during a successful decade at the helm.

He was dismissed in 2022, as Burnley were fighting to avoid slipping back into the Championship.

However, unlike both Parker and his predecessor Vincent Kompany, he managed to keep them at the highest level of the English game for nearly six years before being appointed by Everton and then Forest.

Dyche’s proven track record of not only being able to secure elite level status but also retaining it, coupled with his enduring popularity among the Lancastrians’ support base, he has a pub affectionately name dafter him in the town, has prompted ALK Capital to evaluate their chances of reinstating him should Parker either be relieved of his duties or choose to resign.

Given his frustration with how teams are now governed, Dyche would be interested in speaking with chairman Alan Pace should the Clarets’ position become vacant.

But he would demand control over recruitment and other aspects of their operations in order to consider rejoining them after being less than impressed by Forest’s activity in the transfer market during the January transfer window.
