A trio of Premier League clubs have Middlesbrough’s Aidan Morris on their radar, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.

The midfielder has been one of Boro’s standout stars in recent seasons and is playing a huge part in their Championship promotion push.

Morris, 24, has somewhat been in Hayden Hackney’s shadow at the Riverside with his midfield partner regularly being linked with a move to the top flight.

But the USA international is in the spotlight himself having firmly established himself as one of the best players in the Championship.

Bournemouth, Crystal Palace and Everton are understood to all be running the rule over the influential central midfielder as we head towards the end of the season.

All three clubs are looking to revamp their squads this summer and are understood to see Morris as a top target.

Morris has been a pivotal cog in Middlesbrough’s midfield this term and gets them ticking.

Boro could be playing Premier League football themselves next season. They currently hold a five-point lead over the chasing pack.

The club are braced to lose the likes of Hackney and Morris if they fail to secure promotion this time round.

Morris came through the ranks at Columbus Crew an played his college career at Indiana Hoosiers before returning to Columbus as a homegrown player.

During his time at the club, he was twice a MLS Cup winner and was named as an All-Star in 2023, the same year he broke into the men’s national side.

He signed for Boro in June 2024 for a fee of £3.2million, which has transpired to be a bargain.

Morris was linked with a January move to Celtic, reportedly due to his connection with former manager Wilfried Nancy, but those rumours soon faded after Nancy was sacked.

The midfielder is contracted on Teesside until the summer of 2028.
