AC Milan are interested in snapping up Daichi Kamada as a free agent, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.
The Crystal Palace playmaker has told the club he will not be renewing his contract at Selhurst Park.
And our sources have been told that has put a number of potential suitors on high alert.
Rules state that Kamada is allowed to sign a pre-contract with teams abroad now he is into the final six months of his deal.
Our sources have been told Milan want to move quickly to strike a deal with Christian Pulisic’s future at the club uncertain.
It is understood tentative talks have been opened between Milan chiefs and Kamada’s representatives.
However the player might want to hold out until the summer to assess all of his options, according to sources.
The likes of Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in the 29-year-old Japanese international, who is a highly sought after commodity on the continent.
Kamada signed a two-year deal at Palace in the summer of 2024 as a free agent to reunite with former boss Oliver Glasner.
It is understood Kamada stalled contract talks at the club until Glasner’s decision regarding his future was clear.
Kamada is a key part of Glasner’s plans at Palace, but with the boss leaving at the end of the season Kamada decided to follow suit.
Crystal Palace have recently been linked with a potential move for Thomas Frank once Glasner departs, while sources have even hinted at a shock approach for Sir Gareth Southgate.
Part Of Palace Exodus
The Japanese ace signed for Palace after leaving Lazio, where he spent two seasons.
Prior to that he worked with Glasner at Eintracht Frankfurt, where he got his big break.
During his six-season stint in Germany, Kamada scored 40 goals in 179 appearances in all competitions and was named in the club’s all-time Bundesliga XI in 2022.
It will be interesting to see where Glasner ends up next season and whether he will once again sign Kamada as a free agent.
Editor's Insight

Kamada's contract was always contingent on Glasner's - if the manager stayed, Kamada stayed; if Glasner left, Kamada left. It's a stark reminder of the impact a manager's decision can have on transfer markets - precisely the point of the odds change after a manager is sacked article.
