Brighton and Hove Albion and Brentford are both interested in bringing Algerian international Farès Chaïbi to the Premier League, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.
The two top-flight outfits have made a name out of unearthing gems from abroad in recent years.
And our sources have been told both clubs have been scouting Eintracht Frankfurt’s playmaker this season.
The 23-year-old midfield maestro has been one of the Bundesliga’s standout upstarts this season as he has established himself as an integral part of Dino Toppmöller’s squad.
Chaïbi is into his third season at the Deutsche Bank Park and is really coming of age this term, which has caught the eye of a number of admirers.
The former Toulouse ace has created seven assists and scored a solitary goal in his 16 league appearances so far this term.
Chaïbi is contracted to the German club until the summer of 2028 having penned a five-year deal when he arrived from Ligue 1 outfit Toulouse for a fee in the region of €17million.
It is understood it would take a fee towards the £35million mark to make Frankfurt consider parting with the player this summer.
But the two tussling Premier League outfits will face competition for Chaïbi’s signature from the likes of VfB Stuttgart, Lyon and Como on the continent.
Catching The Eye
Chaïbi has impressed in the Champions League for the club this term and was one of Algeria’s bright sparks during the recent Africa Cup of Nations.
He has been capped 28 times by his national side, scoring three times for the Foxes.
It is not the first time Chaïbi has been on the radar of Premier League clubs.
Arsenal missed out on the player when he left France for Germany in 2023 and Aston Villa were chasing his signature last summer as Unai Emery signed Evann Guessand from Nice instead and captured Harvey Elliott and Jadon Sancho on loan.
