Exclusive: Fin Stevens to be offered way out of St Pauli hell

Wales international Fin Stevens is looking to end his Germany nightmare and return to England. Several Championship clubs, including QPR and Birmingham City, are interested in bringing the former Brentford youngster back to the UK. Stevens has struggled for playing time at St Pauli and is eager for a new start after a challenging stint in the Bundesliga. He has a strong pedigree, having spent time in the Arsenal academy and made appearances for Brentford, Swansea City, and Oxford United.

Fin Stevens wants to end his Germany nightmare and return to England, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.

Our sources have been told there are a number of Championship clubs keeping tabs on the 22-year-old’s situation at St Pauli.

Queens Park Rangers and Birmingham City are interested in offering the former Brentford youngster a route back to England.

Preston North End and Hull City were both linked with a pursuit of the player, who moved to Germany for a fee in the region of £750,000 just last summer, during the transfer window.

It has been a challenging stint in the Bundesliga for the Wales international and our sources understand the youngster is desperate to return to the UK to play regular football.

Stevens joined the club in the summer of 2024 off the back of their promotion from Bundesliga 2.

But the right-back played just 71 minutes last season and spent three months out of the match day squads as the club stayed up during their first season back in the German top flight for over a decade.

And the start to the new campaign has not been much better for the player, who has not been named in the match day 20 so far.

The last time Stevens played in a competitive game was back in January when he came on as an 89th minute substitute.

New Home

Stevens has good pedigree and spent 13 years at the Arsenal academy before being released at the age of 19.

After a non-league spell at Worthing he moved to Brentford in 2020 and made 10 first-team appearances for the club before making the move to St Pauli.

During his time with the Bees he spent a short loan spell at Swansea City in the Championship where he made five substitute appearances in the 2022/23 campaign.

The following season he went on loan and helped Oxford United gain promotion to the Championship.
