Yasser Larouci wants to return to England when his contract expires at Troyes in the summer, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.

In recent seasons, the 24-year-old has spent time on loan at both Sheffield United and Watford.

Both times the deal had an option to buy which neither club decided to activate.

Once tipped as a prospect with a bright future, Larouci is looking for his next move after a number of loan moves in recent years.

Our sources understand the likes of Hull City, Bristol City and Middlesbrough could make a potential move for the Algerian international. The player can sign a contract agreement in January, six months before he officially becomes a free agent.

There are also a couple of French suitors who are willing to offer him a deal once his time at Troyes comes to an end.

Next Step

Larouci came through the ranks at the renowned Lee Havre academy before moving to Premier League giants Liverpool in 2017.

He was described by a youth coach as “aggressive and lightning quick” and helped the club to a fourth FA Youth Cup in 2019.

The defender made his debut for the club in an FA Cup Merseyside derby in 2020, but he declined a contract extension and was released at the end of the 2020/21 campaign.

He penned a five-year contract with Troyes and made 41 Lique 1 appearances for the club across his first two seasons, scoring once.

But following their relegation to Lique 2, he joined newly-promoted Sheffield United on loan in the Premier League. He made just 13 appearances from the club, with 11 of those in the top flight.

The next season he went on loan to Watford, where 26 of his 39 Championship appearances were starts.

This season he is on loan at Greek Super League club Kifisia as he weighs up his future.
