Exclusive: Aston Villa Planning to Sign Manchester United Loan Winger Jadon Sancho on Permanent Deal

Aston Villa have every intention to make Jaden Sancho’s loan move permanent next summer when his contract with Manchester United ends, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.

The former England midfielder joined Villa on deadline day on a loan move until the end of the season.

But while fellow midfielder Harvey Elliott’s season-long loan move from Liverpool had an obligation to buy, Villa just agreed a straight loan deal with Manchester United for Sancho knowing he will become a free agent at the end of the season.

Villa agreed to pay 80 per cent of Sancho’s £200,000-a-week wages, but our sources have now learnt they are already planning a permanent coup at the end of the season, especially with no transfer involved.

Sancho joined United in a high-profile £73million deal from German Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund in July 2021.

But after a promising couple of seasons at Old Trafford, in which he was a regular first-team starter, Sancho dropped spectacularly down the pecking order.

FALLOUT

He fell out with former Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag and was loaned back to Dortmund in the third year of his five-year deal.

Having been told he had no future at United, Sancho jumped at the chance to play for Chelsea last season and toasted sweet by winning the UEFA Conference League with the club.

He played 31 Premier League games for the Blues last campaign and chipped in with five goals, but the West London club were forced to pay a £5million penalty for not opting to sign the winger on a permanent basis.

It was reported the Blues paid for half of Sancho’s huge wages, but when it came to the crunch, they pursued new signings and the 23-cap international jumped at the chance to play for Villa, especially with their participation in the Champions League.

However, Sancho has yet to play a Premier League game for the club and has played just once, starting in a 1-1 EFL Cup draw away to Brentford last week.
