Exclusive: Manchester City Keen to Tie England Under-18 Wonderkid Divine Mukasa to New Long-Term Deal

Manchester City are looking to tie sought-after wonderkid Divine Mukasa to a long-term deal, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.

Dutch giants Ajax tried to sign the England Under-18 international before the summer transfer window shut.

And it was reported that Italian greats AC Milan and German Bundesliga outfit Bayern Munich have made initial enquiries with City about whether a deal can be done.

But City hope to nip that interest in the bud as quickly as possible and offer midfielder Mukasa an improved contract to stay at the Ethiad Stadium,

The 18-year-old former West Ham youth team young gun joined City two seasons ago having impressed scouts who were sent to watch him.

Mukasa has won the FA Youth Cup with the Hammers and Citizens already during his blossoming career.

And our sources understand the talented teenager is now hungry to play regular first-team having come on leaps and bounces in City’s respected academy set-up during the past couple of seasons.

Earlier this season Mukasa was included in City’s Anglo Palermitan Trophy clash with Palermo in August.

IMPRESSIVE SEASON

Last season he scored 16 goals and provided 15 assists in just 20 game’s for City in the Under-19 Premier League.

He played a couple of games in the Premier League 2 last season, as well as in the EFL Trophy.

Mukasa was used as a late substitute in the club’s 1-1 draw away to Chesterfield, as well as being a late replacement in a 5-4 penalty shootout win over Grimsby in the same competition.

The youngster has to had to bide his time for regular football, but City see a bright future for the midfielder and are keen to extend his deal with interest growing in his signature.

He hopes this season and can break into the first-team squad, but is also open to a loan move to get much-needed first team experience in the next big step in his promising career.
