Exclusive: Wolves and Fulham Eye Move for Out-of-Favour West Ham Striker Niclas Füllkrug in Cut-Price January Deal

Wolves and Burnley show interest in signing out-of-favor West Ham striker Niclas Fullkrug. The German international has struggled to make an impact and could be available for a cut-price deal in January due to his high wages. Both clubs are looking to bolster their strikeforce and see Fullkrug as a potential addition. West Ham is hoping to offload the striker to fund a move for a new striker themselves.

Wolves and Fulham have expressed an interest in signing out-of-favour West Ham striker Niclas Füllkrug, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.

The experienced German international centre-forward has scored just three goals in 24 games in total for the club since joining from German giants Borussia Dortmund in August 2024.

And our sources have now learnt that the Hammers are more than happy to offload the player in a cut-price deal when the January transfer window opens.

A loan deal as well as a potential permanent move is one the table, but the only stumbling block could be Fullkrug’s hefty £100,000-a-week wages.

He signed for the Hammers in a high-profile £27million deal just under 18 months ago but has failed to hit the lofty heights expected of him.

Last season he scored three goals in 18 league games but this season has failed to scored having struggled to cement a regular starting role, not helped with Graham Potter having been sacked this season and new boss Nuno Espirito Santo having taken over with the domestic campaign still in its infancy.

Wolves already have the German forward on their shortlist for the upcoming transfer window, but the final decision may hinge on who takes charge following the recent sacking of Vítor Pereira. Former Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has been linked with the role, though Middlesbrough manager Rob Edwards is understood to be the current favourite.

PLENTY TO OFFER

At 32 the 24-cap international still has plenty to offer and Wolves and Fulham believe he would be a welcome addition to their strike force.

A loan move with the view to a permanent move has been discussed, although the Hammers would ideally like to cash in on the striker who still has three years remaining on his contract.

A fee in the region of £18-22million has been muted for the former Werder Bremen marksman, although both Wolves and Fulham are looking to pay less given he his surplus to requirements at the London Stadium.

West Ham are keen to sign a new striker themselves having only recruited one recognised striker, former Newcastle United hitman Callum Wilson, in the summer transfer window.

And if the East London outfit can sell Fullkrug then they would have cash to help fund a move for a new centre-forward when the transfer window re-open in little under two months’ time.
