Younes Ebnoutalib is attracting interest all over Europe after his fast start to the season, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.
The 22-year-old is the leading goalscorer in Bundesliga 2 with nine goals from the first ten games of the campaign.
And SportsBoom sources have been told the SV Elversberg striker is on the radar of a number of clubs in Germany and further afield.
Bundesliga clubs TSG Hoffenheim and Union Berlin are both interested in securing the free scoring Moroccan’s signature.
But clubs in England are also monitoring the hitman's progress at the Waldsadion an der Kaiserlinde.
Ebnoutalib has emerged on Norwich City's radar after Ante Crnac was ruled out for the season. Signing an in-form, prolific striker in January would act as a major welcome bonus for the Canaries' second-half campaign, providing an immediate boost to their attacking options.
Sources close to the German club have told SportsBoom that a number of English clubs have sent scouts to run the rule over the player with interest from Italy and Turkey.
It has been reported that Elversberg, who currently sit third in the Bundesliga 2 title race, would want between €6-€8 million to part with their star striker, who is contracted at the club until 2028.
More clubs are expected to join the race if Ebnoutalib continues to score with the same regularity he has shown already this season.
And that means making a move for him in the January sales might be better than waiting until the end of the season.
Zero to Hero
Ebnoutalib’s rise has been remarkable, having played regional football less than a year ago. His rapid ascent and consistent goal return make him the football equivalent of a valuable free bet offer—an unexpected opportunity with high potential returns for any club that secures his signature.
And he has hit the ground running this term, with his haul of nine goals including a fine hat-trick SpVgg Greuther Fürth.
Editor's Insight
The fact that Norwich is interested in Ebnoutalib is a direct reaction to the season ending injury of Ante Crnac. In these desperate situations a club is likely to overlook the usual factors driving transfer markets in exchange for quickly filling holes in their first team line-up.
