Exclusive: Crystal Palace Race to Tie Down Oliver Glasner Amid Man Utd Interest and Promise of January Investment
Crystal Palace is in talks to extend manager Oliver Glasner's contract and promised January transfer funds to strengthen the squad. Glasner's contract ends in June, with interest from Manchester United. Despite their success, Glasner criticized the lack of investment in the squad last summer. Failure to secure his contract and invest in the squad could jeopardize the club's success and lead to potential player exits.

Crystal Palace are working hard behind-the-scenes to offer manager Oliver Glasner a new improved contract, keen to tie him to a long-term deal at the club, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.
And our sources have learnt the new deal will include a promise to invest in the squad when the January transfer window opens.
Sought-after Austrian boss Glasner is out of contract in June and has already been touted for the Manchester United job if Ruben Amorim is sacked.
Palace are flying high in fourth place in the Premier League following a dramatic late 2-1 victory away to Fulham on Sunday.
And Palace know that Glasner is key to their success this season, and the impressive culture he has built at the club since his arrival in February 2024.
However, the 51-year-old manager was highly-critical of the club’s lack of investment in the squad during the summer following a frustrating defeat to Manchester United earlier in the season.
"If you play European football for the first time in your history, you should invest and not save," said Glasner.
"I think January is too late [to add]. We will have played more than 50 percent of our games."
"Everything was pretty clear and I didn't say anything but I think it is also time to speak about it that we missed the chance to play an even better season in the summer."
The club is also working on new long-term contracts for key players Adam Wharton and Jean-Philippe Mateta, keen to keep their core squad intact as they build on their strong start to the season.
CHANCES
"We missed a couple of chances in July and August, in the transfer window, to make it easier for us but again we will stick together and make it better."
Glasner has revitalised the Eagles since his arrival from Eintracht Frankfurt and last year delighted the club’s loyal supporters by winning the FA Cup.
And since getting the chance in South London, he has worked wonders, especially this season after the sale of star player Eberechi Eze to Arsenal.
Top performers Adam Wharton and Marc Guehi could also leave in the next transfer window, with Palace perilously poised to possibly implode if Glasner’s contract is not sorted and money is invested in the squad to build on their fine start to this season and all the growth during that past 18 months.
