Exclusive: West Ham Preparing to Cut Losses on Luis Guilherme After Struggles in England

West Ham United are looking to offload Brazilian teenager Luis Guilherme in January. The 19-year-old has struggled to make an impact since his move to the London Stadium in 2024. Despite interest from clubs in Europe, Guilherme may return to his native country as West Ham seeks to make room for new signings.

West Ham United are preparing to offload Luis Guilherme in January, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.

As previously reported by SportsBoom, the Brazilian teenager had options in the summer but ultimately decided to stay at the London Stadium and fight for his place.

The 19-year-old was also inwardly boosted by the arrival or former Nottingham Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santos, but has still struggled to force his way into the reckoning.

In the summer, the attacking midfielder had offers from Porto and Feyenoord. But our sources have been told both parities have gone cold on the playmaker.

It is understood that the player wants to remain in Europe as he fills it is better for his career at this stage.

However, it is reported a number of clubs in his homeland remain highly interested in bringing Guilherme back to his native country.

The Hammers' hierarchy are eager to get rid of a number of fringe players in order to rustle up funds to bring in signings for their survival bid.

West Ham have also been linked with a move for Nottingham Forest winger Callum Hudson-Odoi, with boss Nuno Espirito Santo said to be pushing for a reunion with the former Chelsea star as he looks to bolster his survival bid.

Not Made a Mark

It has been an ill-fated move to the UK for Guilherme, who has frustratingly failed to fire since uprooting his life for Europe.

He has made 17 Premier League appearances since his eye-catching £25.5million switch from Palmeiras in the summer of 2024.

This season he has featured just five times, with his only start resulting in being hauled off at half-time by Nuno when 2-0 up away at Bournemouth, a game the Hammers eventually drew 2-2.

Tipped as a top talent and the latest in a long line of stars produced by the renowned Palmeiras academy, Guilherme moved to east London off the back of just 30 league games for the club, with 22 of those coming off the bench.
