As one of the most exciting defensive talents River Plate has introduced to world football in recent years, 22-year-old Lautaro Rivero is climbing to the top of the "hottest prospects to watch" lists in Europe’s massive scouting networks.

Following the real-time tracking to be conducted throughout the season, it is only a matter of time before the first serious opening bids for Rivero hit the table before the summer transfer window opens.

Full-Pitch Press for South America’s New "Rock"

Every touch by Rivero at the Monumental Stadium is now viewed as part of an operational preparation rather than a routine monitoring process.

Particularly clubs seeking low-risk but high-yield assets are updating Rivero’s transfer file with an "urgent" code:

Managing the South American market like a "talent factory," Brighton has not only added Rivero to its database but has also identified him as the next "big leap" candidate to follow in the footsteps of names like Facundo Buonanotte and Valentín Barco. Circles close to the club state that Brighton has upgraded its tracking of Rivero to "intensified observation" status and notes that the player’s adaptation process is compatible with Premier League tempo.

Brighton’s Jan Paul van Hecke has been linked with a possible exit this summer, and Rivero is emerging as an ideal candidate to fill the gap in the Seagulls’ defence.

West Ham United, undergoing a radical rejuvenation in their defensive line, and Leeds United, searching for fresh blood to meet the physical demands of the Premier League, have placed Rivero in the "strategic priority" category. Especially in a market suffering from a shortage of left-footed centre-backs, Rivero’s name is considered a "point-blank" solution for both clubs.

A Modern-Day Left-Footed Gladiator

Technical details in scouting reports clearly reveal why Rivero could cause a "bidding war" at any moment.

One of the most sought-after and expensive traits in modern football, the "left-footed centre-back" (L-CB) profile, carries Rivero to the very top of the list.

His ability to build play from the back and the key passes he makes while maintaining composure even under pressure make him not just a defender, but also a playmaker.

Standing at 1.85m, his absolute dominance in aerial duels provides a perfect foundation for the harsh climate of the Premier League.

Despite his massive frame, Rivero possesses a surprising acceleration capability. His speed in sweeping balls behind the defense during rapid counter-attacks and his ability to cover makes him advantageous against elite-level opponents.

In the "recovery speed" parameter, which technical directors value most, Rivero holds the best data in South America for his age group.

Under the massive pressure of a club like River Plate, his ability to command the defence is dazzling. Despite his young age, his positional awareness on the pitch and his ability to direct his teammates certify his "natural-born leader" character. Consistency in his concentration levels is one of the main elements whetting the appetite of European clubs for an "opening bid."

River Plate’s Sales Vision

His contract running until December 2028 significantly strengthens the River Plate board's hand in negotiations.

The club views Rivero not just as a source of revenue, but as one of the club's greatest future exports. Therefore, teams coming to the table will need to overcome River Plate’s "precious asset" protection.

Although the release clause is much higher, the realistic market starting point is accepted in the €15m–€20 million bracket.

However, every successful intervention by the player during the season pushes this figure upward. It is rumoured that Premier League sides will want to secure an "early reservation" to freeze the price at these levels.
