Brentford’s recruitment team have been looking at Lee Kang-In as a possible replacement for Kevin Schade, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.
Our sources understand the Bees are braced for bids for German international Schade this summer.
Schade has been linked with a move away from the GTech Community Stadium in recent windows, but according to sources a big-money transfer in the region of £50million looks on the cards at the end of the season.
The pacy winger, bought for £22million three years ago, has been linked with Premier League outfits Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.
But our sources have been told Bayern Munich are ready to make a bid for the 24-year-old.
It is understood the prospect of a return to Germany, especially with giants Munich, and Champions League football are a huge lure for the player — who was previously on the radar of Borussia Dortmund.
Interest in Schade has left the west London club looking at alternatives and our sources have been told PSG’s Kang-In is on their list.
The South Korea international has a bit-part role at the French champions and is searching for a project where he can play a pivotal part.
It is understood PSG would command a fee of around €40million for the 25-year-old, who is under contract until 2028.
Brentford have competition with Atletico Madrid, who are understood to have already held talks over a move, eager on taking the player back to Spain, where he played at Valencia and Mallorca before a €22million move to Paris.
Remarkable Rise For Bees
Schade has played a substantial role in the Bees’ European push under Keith Andrews this season and is one of their fearful front three alongside Igor Thiago and record signing Dango Ouattara.
The speedster has scored seven goals and provided three assists in the league this season and has 20 Premier League goals in 74 appearances since signing for the club permanently.
Dortmund’s Maxi Beier, who Brentford have pursued in recent years with a club record £45million offer rejected last summer, also remains a target for the club.
