Bristol City are among a number of clubs monitoring Huddersfield Town’s Cameron Ashia, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.
Our sources have been told a host of Championship and Scottish suitors are on red alert with the Terriers’ winger set to become a free agent in the summer.
Ashia’s rise at the Alfred Mcalpine Stadium this season has caught the attention of the Robins, who are heading into the summer transfer window with an appetite to overhaul parts of their squad.
Gerhard Struber is desperate to add quality to the ranks and is set to be mobile in the window after losing attacking midfielder Anis Mehmeti to promotion chasing Ipswich Town mid season.
In other news, Bristol City captain Jason Knight is once again drawing interest from the Premier League, with the midfielder previously linked to Everton, Bournemouth and Fulham ahead of the summer transfer window.
But there are plenty of rivals for the promising 20-year-old talent.
Birmingham City, Queens Park Rangers and Stoke City are three other second flight clubs who have been credited with an interest.
And it is understood Preston North End are also running the rule over the player, who was formerly on the books of Derby County.
But a switch to Scotland could be on the cards, according to our sources.
It is understood the big three of Celtic, Rangers and Hearts all hold an interest in taking the young gun north of the border.
Rising Talent
Sources close to the Yorkshire club say Huddersfield Town, who are in the mix for the play-offs, are resigned to the fact they will lose the upstart if they fail to get promoted themselves.
Ambition Ashia is destined to be playing higher than League One next term, but is understood to be waiting until the end of the season to weigh up his options.
Ashia has impressed with six goals in all competitions this term and is understood to be on the radar of a number of League One promotion contenders.
