Crystal Palace vs Tottenham Preview: Odds, Tips & Prediction
Date: Sunday, December 28 Venue: Selhurst Park Kick-off: 4:30pm GMT High-flying Crystal Palace will be in good spirits ahead of the visit of Tottenham on Sunday, December 28. In the picture for a coveted Champions League berth, Oliver Glasner’s men have been largely solid, and even a comprehensive 3-0 defeat in their last home game against Manchester City, it hasn’t deflated the mood in the camp. Tottenham, meanwhile, were outclassed in their last clash with Palace back in May, when Eberechi Eze, now of Arsenal, slotted in a quick-fire double. The previous two fixtures have gone the way of Palace, who have scored three unanswered goals. SportsBoom loves a good London derby. To build the picture, we’ve provided some Crystal Palace vs Tottenham predictions, and this has been supplemented with odds derived from the best football betting sites.

Head-to-Head Record
Don’t overlook the importance of Premier League head-to-head records. This is what has happened across recent encounters involving Palace and Tottenham.
Last Five Meetings (Premier League)
- 11/05/25: Tottenham 0-2 Crystal Palace
- 27/10/24: Crystal Palace 1-0 Tottenham
- 02/03/24: Tottenham 3-1 Crystal Palace
- 27/10/23: Crystal Palace 1-2 Tottenham
- 06/05/23: Tottenham 1-0 Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace Current Form – LWWLL
Palace have already surpassed many people’s expectations. Having lifted the FA Cup last term, their first major piece of silverware, Glasner has taken the Eagles to new heights, and they are in the mix for a Champions League spot.
They play a stylish brand of football, and after being outclassed 3-0 by City in their last home outing, where they were put to the sword by Erling Haaland and Phil Foden, they were hammered 4-1 away to Leeds.
These results were concerning, but with Europe to contend with and fixtures mounting up, Palace need to get back to winning ways quickly.
Key Players to Watch
- Jean-Philippe Mateta
A fabulous target man, Jean-Philippe Mateta holds the ball up well, and he’s often clinical. He’s the club’s top scorer with seven league goals, and while he’s been struggling with knee injuries, his minutes have been managed well recently. - Yeremy Pino
The midfielder only joined over the summer from Villarreal, but he’s an exciting player. He’s 23, but he is fearless on the ball, and he will test Tottenham’s shaky back line. - Marc Guehi
Standing tall as Palace captain, Marc Guehi was heavily linked with a move to Liverpool in the summer transfer window, but it fell through. Anyway, the centre-back is commanding from crosses, and he’s quick, so he won’t get beaten in many one-on-one contests.
Crystal Palace Team News
With Ismaila Sarr at the Africa Cup of Nations, and Daichi Kamada out for up to eight weeks with a hamstring issue, Glasner’s squad is being stretched over the festive period. He may have to tweak things for the visit of Tottenham.
Tottenham Current Form – LDWLL
There appears to be an air of discontent surrounding Tottenham, and while they aren’t in crisis, hovering just below mid-table isn’t what the board had in mind when they hired Thomas Frank as the manager.
His pragmatism has at times curtailed his team’s attacking talent, and the limp display against Nottingham Forest underlined this, where they contributed to their own downfall with defensive errors.
The 2-1 defeat at home to Liverpool further exposed their fragility, although they had two players sent off. Nevertheless, an 11th reverse on home soil in the calendar year set a new low for Tottenham in the Premier League era.
Key Players to Watch
- Richarlison
While the fans were on his back last season, Richarlison has responded superbly this season, firing home six league goals. He’s hungry for goals, and he isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty and track back. - Rodrigo Bentancur
Although he’s close to getting a suspension as he’s on four yellow cards this season, Rodrigo Bentancur may have only netted once this term, but he gives Tottenham a solid base in midfield, and he can be creative. - Mohammed Kudus
Although he would have liked a few more goals to his name, Mohammed Kudus is contributing in other ways. His five league assists attest to this, and he’s powerful, shielding the ball well from defenders, and his crossing has been superb.
Tottenham Team News
Destiny Udogie is sidelined with a hamstring injury, while Radu Dragusin was an unused substitute against Liverpool. Other than that, aside from team selection, Frank might be starting to consider making a move or two in the January transfer window.
Predicted Line-Ups
Crystal Palace (3-4-2-1)
Henderson; Richards, Lacroix, Guehi, Clyne, Hughes, Wharton, Mitchell, Nketiah, Pino, Mateta
Tottenham (4-2-2-2)
Vicario, Porro, Danso, van de Ven, Spence, Bentancur, Gray, Kudus, Bergvall, Kolo Muani, Richarlison
Suggested Bets
Premier League bookmakers leave no stone unturned, and we’ve shared some football betting tips to mull over.
Over 1.5 Goals: In just one of the past four league clashes has this line not been fulfilled, and so there is a decent chance this wager could land. (2/7 with Midnite)
Over 8.5 Corners: Each of the previous six league meetings has seen this line comfortably exceeded, so this line is certainly inviting. (3/8 with Betway)
Highest Scoring Half – 2nd Half: In two of the past four games, a total of seven goals were scored, and all in the second half, so this market could be worth tapping into. (21/20 with Bet442)
Value Bets
Crystal Palace to Win to Nil: Palace did a league double over Tottenham last season without conceding. They could close up shop at Selhurst Park again. (11/4 with William Hill)
Anytime Scorer - Jean-Philippe Mateta: Despite the recent injury concerns, Mateta is invariably a threat, and his odds for this line aren’t too short. (5/4 with Betfred)
Anytime Assist – Mohammed Kudus: Given his crossing ability and determination to make an impact in the attacking third, Kudus could feed one of his team-mates for a goal. (18/5 with Leovegas)
Prediction: Crystal Palace to Win to Nil
Tottenham haven’t filled us with much confidence lately, and Frank’s charges have shown little appetite to take control or really shake up games. Palace, on the other hand, are much more free-flowing in attack, and given they’ve won the past two matches against Tottenham without conceding, this could be another chastening afternoon for the visitors. Palace are going places, and they could dismantle Tottenham without shipping a goal.
