For Tottenham, there has been lingering scar tissue from the 4-1 defeat away to North London rivals Arsenal last month, and they have been poor at home, crashing to 10 league defeats in a calendar year.

Meanwhile, Brentford are in the ascendancy, and although they suffered a 2-1 loss away to Brighton, they bounced back with a 3-1 rout of Burnley. Up into the top half, the Bees, who were in North London earlier this week to face Arsenal, would like to add to Tottenham’s woes.

Pre-Game Odds and Win Probability – Tottenham Emerge Favourites

Premier League betting sites are crammed with pre-match prices, and this is how one of the most reputable bookmakers sees things:

  • Home: 21/20 (2.05) – 48.8%
  • Draw: 12/5 (2.40) – 29.4%
  • Away: 12/5 (2.40) – 29.4%

Head-to-Head Record

Premier League head-to-head records offer fascinating insights. Here’s how recent meetings have unfolded.

Last Five Meetings (Premier League)

  1. 02/02/25: Brentford 0-2 Tottenham

  2. 21/09/24: Tottenham 3-1 Brentford

  3. 31/01/24: Tottenham 3-2 Brentford

  4. 13/08/23: Brentford 2-2 Tottenham

  5. 20/05/23: Tottenham 1-3 Brentford

Tottenham Current Form – WLDLL

Tottenham have suffered from an alarming loss of confidence. This was compounded by the chastening 4-1 defeat away to Arsenal, where they demonstrated little attacking ambition and had an expected goals (xG) rate of 0.07, one of their lowest totals this season.

Without the likes of Dejan Kulusevski and Dominic Solanke to call upon, Tottenham have been rather flat. The 2-1 defeat at home to Fulham last weekend illustrated the unease they have had at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in 2025.

Moreover, the cacophony of boos that rang around the ground in the wake of the Fulham defeat aimed at Frank reveals the size of the task he faces to turn things around.

Key Players to Watch

  • Mohammed Kudus: An aggressive and hard-working player, Mohammed Kudus’ decision-making going forward is excellent, and he ended his Premier League drought with a terrific volley in the defeat against Fulham. The visitors will need to pay close attention to him.
  • Richarlison: Previously a maligned figure, Richarlison has looked hungrier over the past few weeks. Apart from a quick turn of his pace, Richarlison is dangerous in the air, and he’s netted three in his past four games in all competitions, so he could be instrumental for the hosts.
  • Pedro Porro: Strong on and off the ball, Pedro Porro is electrifying going forward, and his final product is usually on the money. He may have only provided one assist this season, but Tottenham could profit from his deliveries out wide.

Tottenham Team News

Kulusevski is still working his way back to fitness, so he’s unavailable to face Brentford, while Yves Bissouma remains out. Cristian Romero is back after serving a one-match suspension.

Brentford Current Form – WLWLW

Recent results may show a lack of consistency, but Brentford are on the right trajectory. The 3-1 win over Burnley was chaotic, but enthralling as the Bees kept their composure to get over the line with a flurry of late goals.

In the top half of the table, Brentford will be hoping for more luck on the road, given they suffered back-to-back losses against Crystal Palace and Brighton respectively.

High-intensity and direct is how Brentford can be described under Keith Andrews, and compared to previous seasons, they are less reliant on scoring from set pieces.

Key Players to Watch

  • Igor Thiago: The Brazilian forward is the club’s focal point in attack, and he has been in sublime form, smashing home seven league goals in his past six appearances. Only Erling Haaland (14) has scored more than Thiago this term, so he could be a thorn in the Tottenham side.
  • Dango Ouattara: Having splashed out a club-record £42.5 million for him over the summer, Dango Ouattara has settled in well in West London, and he loves to roam forward. His classy finish against Burnley took his tally to three in the league, and he will be on the hunt for more.
  • Kevin Schade: With four goal involvements (three goals and one assist), Kevin Schade has been instrumental for Brentford this term, and his incisive passing means he can pick holes in Tottenham’s defence.

Brentford Team News

Apart from two long-term injuries to Fabio Carvalho and Antoni Milambo, Brentford have no fresh injury concerns to contend with.

Predicted Line-Ups

  1. Tottenham (4-2-2-2)

Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie, Gray, Palhinha, Kudus, Bergvall, Muani, Richarlison

  2. Brentford (4-2-3-1)

Kelleher; Kayode, Collins, Van den Berg, Hickey, Henderson, Jensen, Ouattara, Damsgaard, Schade; Thiago

Suggested Bets

If you like betting on the Premier League, you should check out the following football betting tips.

  1. Double Chance – Draw or Brentford: Although Brentford’s away form has been dire lately and they have lost on their last two visits to Tottenham, the hosts aren’t exactly flying, so the double chance line seems sensible. (8/13 with Betway)

  2. 1st Half Over 0.5 goals: Meetings between Brentford and Tottenham are rarely drab, and the past four league clashes in North London have seen at least a goal scored inside the 45 minutes, so this is worth exploring. (8/25 with Bet442).

  3. Brentford to win either half: Tottenham have often been ponderous, and Brentford have won at least a half in the past two clashes, so this has legs to it. (EVENS with QuinnBet).

Value Bets

  1. First Team to Score – Brentford: Tottenham have had to play catch-up, falling behind in each of their past four league games, so Brentford to open the scoring is getting some backing from Premier League bookmakers. (23/20 with Midnite)

  2. Igor Thiago to Score Anytime: Thiago has been on fire this term, hitting 11 league goals, and he is worth leaning into to find the net against Tottenham. (6/4 with Leovegas)

  3. Brentford Most Corners: Tottenham may have to absorb a lot of pressure, and Brentford could pip them on the corner count. (31/20 with BetMGM)

Prediction: Brentford to win and Over 2.5 goals

Brentford and Tottenham have often played out high-scoring games, but Tottenham’s main problem has been slow, ponderous starts, and being exposed from set pieces. Although Tottenham have beaten the Bees in their past two league clashes at home, the tables could turn this time. Brentford could hurt them with Thiago spearheading the attack, and an away win with Over 2.5 goals across the 90 minutes is appealing.
