They dismantled cross-town rivals Tottenham in the North London derby, picked Bayern Munich apart in the Champions League, then drew another fierce London derby against Chelsea, before welcoming Brentford to the Emirates Stadium and overwhelming the Bees with their deep pool of talent and warrior mentality.

Aston Villa put them to the ultimate test last time out and unfortunately lost after Emiliano Buendia scored with the last touch of the game, ending an eleven-game unbeaten streak in the league. Now, with full focus on Wolves, the challenge for Arteta will be to break down a deep, organized defence, which will require patience and brilliance. That said, with an outstanding home record, a win is non-negotiable for Arteta and his men.

  • Bukayo Saka: Saka is among the best wingers in world football and is still heading into his prime. He can create something out of nothing with the way he can take opponents on, has the vision to identify space and pick out decisive passes, as well as show composure in the face of goal. His talent is undeniable and continues to be a key figure in this Arsenal squad. 
  • Viktor Gyokeres: Gyokeres came in with high expectations after what he did in the Portuguese league with Sporting SP. It’s taken some time for him to adjust to the demands of the Premier League, but he now looks to have settled in and looks comfortable in his new surroundings. He is a prolific goal scorer who needs no invitation to pounce on opportunities and is one to keep an eye on in this fixture, having scored the majority of his goals at the Emirates. 
  • Martin Zubimendi: The Spanish international is dominating his position and has never looked out of place since coming to the Premier League. Cristhian Mosquera (ankle) is out for weeks due to an ankle injury he sustained. William Saliba (undisclosed) could make a return to the matchday squad in this fixture after making a full recovery from his injury. Gabriel Magalhaes (thigh) is still confirmed to be out but is closing in on a return. Kai Havertz (knee) brings good news as he is weeks away from making a return.

Wolves Current Form – LLLLL

Wolves are by far the worst-performing team in the Premier League. They have had issues off the field that have derailed their progress this season, leaving them holding the rest of the league up in 20th place and still searching for their first league win of the season. Rob Edwards has taken on a job that only a miracle can fix at this point, but if there is one man who can foster change, it's Edwards.  

Wolves come into this fixture on the back of a five-game winless streak. They have the worst defence and attack in the league, further demonstrating the seriousness of the situation they find themselves in. The defeats against Fulham, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, and Aston Villa saw them ship in nine goals without reply. 

Nottingham provided another challenge, but having the slight edge of playing at Molineux Stadium, Wolves played with confidence and put in yet another good performance without coming away with the victory. Old Trafford to face Man United last time out saw positives that Edwards can work and improve on, but with Arsenal at the Emirates next, Wolves would have to be perfect, and the Gunners have everything to go against them if they aim to come away with a victory.

  • Jorgen Strand Larsen: Strand Larsen was brought in to fill the big shoes of Matheus Cunha after he left for Man United.  He is not the most lethal striker you will find, but he does have a good presence in the box, makes intelligent runs behind defensive lines, and uses his strength to his advantage during set-pieces, which could help Wolves find some joy in this fixture.
  • Santiago Bueno: Bueno has the capability to reach another level in his game; it’s just unfortunate that he finds himself in this tough situation. He has the desire to defend and win ground duels, reads the game well to be able to close passing lanes, and has good control to handle the ball under pressure. While his primary focus is to defend, the Uruguayan is also a threat in attacking set-pieces.
  • Joao Gomes: Gomes is a hard-working, box-to-box midfielder who is very comfortable with the ball at his feet and loves making tackles. He makes strong progressive runs through midfield, has the Brazilian flair to navigate his way through pressure, and delivers well-timed passes for teammates to get into good positions. He will play a major role in closing down Arsenal’s midfield in this fixture.
