Sheffield United Monitoring Ellis Simms Amid Possible Coventry Shake-Up
Sheffield United are monitoring Ellis Simms at Coventry City, a key player in the Championship-leading squad. With a potential move to the Premier League, Simms is attracting interest from various clubs including Everton. A physically imposing striker, Simms has an impressive goal-scoring record and is eligible to play for multiple national teams.

Sheffield United are monitoring Ellis Simms situation at Coventry City, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.
Despite being a key member of the squad which leads the Championship table with only 11 matches remaining, Simms is among a host of players the Sky Blues could look to trade should Premier League football be secured.
And that has put a number of second-tier sides, including Chris Wilder’s employers, on alert as they look to steal an early march in the transfer market.
Simms has predominately been used as an impact player by Lampard so far this term, with nearly two thirds of his 34 appearances in the competition coming from the bench.
Although Wilder has an array of attacking options at his disposal, including Patrick Bamford, Tyrese Campbell and Tom Cannon, doubts about the latter’s long-term future in South Yorkshire has prompted the Blades’ recruitment gurus to begin analysing possible replacements.
Everton had previously been monitoring Campbell’s situation closely, as they consider making an approach for the centre-forward whose late father Kevin famously represented the club.
Wilder is known to favour physically imposing strikers and, should the stars align, would welcome the opportunity to work with Simms given his experience of pressure situations at upwardly mobile teams.
Simm-ply Makes Sense
He began his career at Goodison Park before completing loan spells at Heart of Midlothian and Sunderland ahead of his switch to Warwickshire.
Simms has scored more than 60 goals in 212 career outings, with 11 of those coming since August. Aged 25 and approaching the final 12 months of his present contract, he is eligible to play for Poland and Jamaica as well as England, who he was capped by at under-20 level.
Simms was named as Championship Player of the Month in November, having netted five times in only three games.
