Premier League Queue Forms for Bournemouth's Marcos Senesi as Newcastle Lead Chase
Premier League clubs and Serie A giants are all interested in Argentine defender Marcos Senesi, who is set to leave Bournemouth this summer. Despite interest from Manchester United, Newcastle are favorites to sign the 28-year-old to bolster their defense. Everton, Aston Villa, and Italian clubs Napoli, Roma, Juventus, and AC Milan are also eyeing Senesi, who is valued at double the price Bournemouth paid. Cherries boss Iraola wants to keep him, but Senesi is looking for a big move.

Premier League sides are forming a queue for Argentina ace Marcos Senesi this summer, SportsBoom can reveal.
Our sources have been told there is also big interest from Serie A for the 28-year-old South American defender who is out of contract at Bournemouth this summer.
Senesi, who joined the Cherries from Feyenoord in 2022, has supposedly been interesting Manchester United.
A link-up with fellow countryman Lisandro Martinez may sound appealing.
However, United are blessed with central defenders, including youngsters Leny Yoro and Ayden Heaven, and are expected to offer Harry Maguire another 12-month contract.
So, Senesi will miss out on joining the Red Devils but another United, Newcastle, are strong favourites for his signature.
Tyneside sources say the Mags are looking to add steel to their defence this summer.
Only six clubs have conceded more goals this season than the Magpies. They haven’t kept a clean sheet in their last 10 games in all competitions.
And the last Premier League shutout was against basement boys Wolves on January 18.
Fan favourite Dan Burn is contracted until the summer of 2027 but will be 34 in May. Fabian Schar, currently injured after recent ankle surgery, is also 34 and becomes a free agent this summer.
So, Senesi is a younger and proven replacement. However, Everton and Aston Villa will rival Newcastle for a player who has been capped twice by his country.
So too will reigning Serie A champions, Napoli, while Roma, Juventus and AC Milan have been scouting Senesi’s progress in recent seasons.
The club are also eyeing Burnley's Maxime Estéve as a possible replacement for Senesi.
Wanted Man
Bournemouth are thought to have paid only around £12 million for Senesi whose value is now double that amount.
Cherries boss Andoni Iraola would love to keep his defensive talisman.
But having seen former team mates Antoine Semenyo, Milos Kerkez and Dean Huijsen join Manchester City, Liverpool and Real Madrid respectively in recent years, Senesi fancies his own big move.
Editor's Insight
Proven domestic talent can be less expensive for Premier League clubs than the high cost of failure of an overseas acquisition. It is this aversion to risk that can lead to short-term decision making over long-term strategic value.
