Exclusive: Patrick Bamford to Stay at Sheffield United After New Deal Agreed
Striker Patrick Bamford has agreed to stay at Sheffield United, signing a new deal with the club. After weeks of speculation, Bamford confirmed his commitment to the Blades ahead of today's FA Cup match. His impressive performance since joining last season has earned him a contract extension, providing a much-needed boost for the team.

Patrick Bamford has agreed a new contract with Sheffield United, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.
The centre-forward told Blades boss Chris Wilder that he would be staying at Bramall Lane ahead of today's FA Cup third round tie against Mansfield Town, following weeks of speculation about his future.
Previously of Leeds, Nottingham Forest, Chelsea and Middlesbrough, Bamford has scored five goals in only 10 appearances since joining last season’s Championship play-off finalists on a short-term deal.
That was due to expire this month and, although it remains unclear how long the 32-year-old is scheduled to remain in South Yorkshire, he is certain to complete the present campaign in United colours.
SportsBoom exclusively reported that Wilder would swoop for Bamford after his eight season stay at Elland Road came to an end last summer.
At the time, it was widely predicted that he would head abroad with numerous clubs in Spain understood to be preparing offers to the then free agent.
But Wilder, despite the duo’s sometimes spiky relationship during tussles between The Blades and The Whites, always envisaged bringing Bamford to United when his time with Daniel Farke’s men drew to a close.
AGREEMENT
When Coventry City failed to negotiate an agreement after inviting him to train with Frank Lampard’s promotion chasing side, Wilder swooped to secure the services of a striker with a proven track record of success in both the top-flight of English football and its second tier.
Securing Bamford’s services, amid interest from Ipswich Town, will be a major boost for the former Boro, Northampton Town and Halifax chief as he looks to guide The Blades up the table after returning for a third spell in charge.
COH Sports, the American consortium which owns The Blades, are attempting to identify fresh investors which suggests their budget during this month’s transfer window is likely to be limited.
But Bamford’s decision, together with Ki Jana Hoever’s arrival on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers, will lift his spirits as they prepare to face Nigel Clough’s side before returning to league action at Charlton Athletic.
