Exclusive: Celtic Not Out of the Race for Bodo/Glimt’s UCL Hero Kasper Høgh
Celtic are eyeing a move for Bodo Glimt's Kasper Høgh, with the forward impressing both domestically and in Europe. English clubs are also interested, but Celtic may make a move to bolster their squad after a disappointing season. Høgh's potential move could boost his international hopes, with Glimt potentially open to selling to strengthen financially.

Celtic could be tempted to make an approach for Kasper Høgh, Bodo Glimt’s exciting forward, if he attempts to engineer a move away from the Norwegian’s this summer, SportsBoom can reveal.
Having impressed at both domestic and European level, he was on target during this week’s remarkable Champions League defeat of Internazionale, Høgh is being tipped to capitalise on his soaring profile by engineering a switch to a club with even greater standing abroad.
A number of second tier sides in England, including Norwich City, are understood to have been monitoring the Dane’s situation closely of late.
But as they look to reinvigorate themselves following what, by their own high standards, has been a disastrous SPL campaign, Martin O’Neill’s employers are also considering reentering the race for a player who averages more than a goal every other game for Kjetil Knutsen’s team.
The energy and physicality he displayed at the San Siro, as the Italian giants suffered a shock exit from a tournament they had been tipped to challenge for, will only serve to heighten the clamour elsewhere for Høgh’s services, potentially prompting The Hoops to attempt to steal a march by making a discreet enquiry now.
Wolfsburg and Union Berlin see Høgh’s physical frame as ideal for the Bundesliga’s direct style, while Udinese and Torino have added him to their shortlists, impressed by his aerial duel success. Across the Atlantic, D.C. United are preparing a Designated Player slot for the 25-year-old.
International Ambitions
Despite his exploits for Glimt, Stabaek, Aab and Holbro, the former Randers' prospect has yet to receive a senior international cap even though he has represented Denmark at both under-18 and under-19 level.
Although he has no intention of leaving Knutsen’s squad before their Champions League adventure is over, Høgh knows that heading to a team of Celtic’s stature would boost his hopes of ending that exile.
Even though he is tied to a long-term contract, Glimt could also be tempted to cash-in when the time is right in order to further consolidate their already strong financial position.
Høgh spent time with Icelandic outfit Valur at the beginning of his career, before heading to first to Hobro and then Aab.
