Real Madrid's Gonzalo García Set for Premier League Loan with Arsenal and Newcastle Circling

Having extended his contract with Real Madrid until 2030 in recent months, Gonzalo García is preparing to abandon the "wait-and-see" policy within an attacking line filled with global stars.
While the Madrid management, trusting in the 22-year-old Spanish forward’s talent, is not keen on a permanent sale, they have for the first time seriously put a loan option on the table to allow his development to continue in a top-tier arena like the Premier League.
Performance Under Observation
Premier League giants, seeking to analyse Gonzalo’s playing style on-site, have tracked the player in every match, particularly from the second half of the 2025-26 season onwards.
Arsenal sits at the top of the list. The "Gunners" have identified Gonzalo as the most suitable candidate for Mikel Arteta’s system should Gabriel Jesus, who has struggled with injuries and is on the radar of Serie A giants, depart the club this summer.
On the other hand, Newcastle United is lying in wait to fill the void in their forward line with Madrid’s young talent if they sell their €75 million star, Nick Woltemade.
In January, reports linked Unai Emery’s Aston Villa with García, but the clubs were unable to agree on terms for a move.
Technical and Physical Observations
Standing at 1.82m, Gonzalo is renowned for his "pure finishing" inside the penalty area and his aerial dominance.
The young star, who pushed the 10-goal mark in limited minutes for Real Madrid this season, has been flagged in scouting reports as an "elite-level finisher" due to his heading accuracy and ability to use both feet.
Leaked information suggests that Arsenal scouts, in particular, have described Gonzalo as a more physical version of Jesus, noting his "ball retention under pressure and link-up play" attributes.
Club Strategies
Arsenal is ready to accept potential offers in the €20–€25 million range for Gabriel Jesus.
If Jesus’s departure becomes official, the Arsenal management will present Real Madrid with a "loan with an option to buy" or a "permanent transfer with a buy-back clause" for Gonzalo García.
Newcastle plans to funnel a portion of the projected €75–€80 million budget from a potential Nick Woltemade sale directly into the Gonzalo transfer.
Madrid does not want to lose Gonzalo entirely. Therefore, no sale will be sanctioned without a "buy-back clause." However, the green light has been given for a loan formula, provided the player receives a guarantee of a regular starting XI spot.
