Identified as the focal point of Trabzonspor’s attacking organisation, Felipe Augusto has entered the radar of English clubs with his "pure talent" profile.
A transfer file has already been opened in the Premier League for the Brazilian player, who perfectly fits the definition of the mobile and technical forward/wing-forward sought after in modern football.
Performance Under Observation
To solidify their data on Augusto’s potential on-site, representatives from the Island have placed the player under the microscope during recent high-stakes fixtures.
It has been confirmed that scouts from Crystal Palace, aiming to add offensive depth and physical power to their squad, were in the stands for Trabzonspor’s home match against Rizespor and the away fixture against Eyüpspor.
Specifically, reports suggest that they have noted the player’s "ball-carrying speed" and "physical resilience" as a profile capable of adapting to the rigours of the Premier League.
Palace are seeking competition for their latest striker edition, Jørgen Strand Larsen, as Jean-Philippe Mateta is expected to depart the club this summer.
Technical and Physical Observations
Standing at 1.87m, Augusto draws attention with his balance and explosive power despite his stature.
Having reached 13 goals across all competitions this season, the Brazilian earned full marks from scouts for his back-to-goal hold-up play against Rizespor and his mobility against Eyüpspor (where he also found the net). Reports emphasised that he is not just a "finisher," but a profile that "creates space" with his runs behind the defensive line.
Club Approach
The Trabzonspor hierarchy views Augusto, who was signed from Cercle Brugge for €5 million at the start of the season, as one of the club's greatest investment successes.
The Claret-and-Blue management will only sanction a departure for a fee that establishes a new benchmark in the club’s history.
Augusto is under a long-term contract until June 30, 2029. While the club president emphasised the player’s happiness within the team, he stated that the squad planning will continue to revolve around Augusto unless an astronomical bid is received.
Serious Pursuit or Monitoring?
The interest has officially transitioned from "intensive monitoring" to "bid preparation."
It is claimed that Crystal Palace could initiate official contact at the start of the summer to strengthen their attacking rotation.
Trabzonspor is expected to open negotiations in the €20–€25 million range. The rejection of offers in the €15 million region back in January proves how high the management's expectations truly are.
While official statements remain focused on the club’s league objectives, it is widely reported in the British press that Palace have established initial contact with the player’s representative to "inquire about terms."
