Brentford Current Form – LLDLW

Keith Andrews has been able to keep his team true and competitive during the season, which has been tough at times but also very commendable, given the circumstances of losing key players and filling the big shoes of Thomas Frank. They have been tough to break down, show aggression in transitions, and thrive on direct play, making them a tricky side to face.

The last five matches have seen the Bees being tested against some of the more superior teams in the league, which has seen them face back-to-back defeats against both London clubs, Arsenal and Tottenham. Andrews needed a big performance against Leeds, and his men managed to respond after securing a point at home ahead of another mammoth fixture against Man City.

The trip to the Etihad was always going to be a challenge too high for Andrew's men and proved so after being outplayed throughout the fixture. After eventually losing on the night to be eliminated from the EFL Cup, there were some key takeaways to work with going into the Wolves game. Despite the pressure of playing away, the Bees put in a strong second-half performance to return to winning ways. Now with Bournemouth in sight, confidence and belief will be high as they aim to put the Cherries to the sword.

Key Players To Watch

  • Mikkel Damsgaard: Damsgaard goes under the radar and may be overlooked at times due to Brentford’s position, but one thing is for sure: he is a constant threat to any defence. His vision, skill, and link-up play are exceptional, especially in the final third when given the freedom to pull the strings.
  • Kevin Schade: Schade’s explosive pace and acceleration allow him to exploit space and run in behind defences. His direct dribbling makes him unpredictable in one-on-one situations and has shown himself to be a natural finisher, turning his speed and movement into goals.
  • Igor Thiago: Thiago has become the talisman for the Bees and is second on the Premier League goals list with 11 goals, trailing Erling Haaland by eight, who sits in first place on 19 goals. He’s physical, intelligent, and clinical in front of the goal, making him a target man with a high ceiling.

Brentford Team News

Frank Onyeka and Dango Outtara are away on international duty competing at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco. Reiss Nelson (undisclosed) is hoping to return to the matchday squad after working his way back from an undisclosed injury. Fabio Carvalho (knee) is making great strides in his recovery from his ACL injury; however, he still has a long way to go until a full recovery. Antoni Milambo (knee) is also out with an ACL injury and is fully focused on returning next season.

Bournemouth Current Form – LLDDD

Bournemouth has found it difficult to get going this season, even to the point where they now find themselves nine points above the relegation zone. Despite this minor slump, Andoni Iraola is more than capable of getting his team back on track. By balancing aggression with direct attacking intent, Iraola’s men are adept at going toe-to-toe by quickly turning defence into attack.

To further highlight the Cherries’ struggles, the last five games have seen them being exposed defensively and showing inconsistency. Despite dominating possession and controlling proceedings, Bournemouth faced back-to-back defeats against Sunderland and Everton. A reaction was required to go into the Chelsea game, and they held the Blues to a draw, earning a well-deserved point.

Old Trafford would be the next destination, and again they managed to secure another valuable point in an eight-goal thriller against Man United. Last time out, they looked certain to return to winning ways, having welcomed relegation-threatened Burnley to the Vitality Stadium, but a lapse in concentration saw the Clarets equalize late in the game, and they had to settle for their third consecutive draw. Knowing how important a victory is here against Brentford, dropping points is non-negotiable.

Key Players To Watch

  • Antoine Semenyo: Semenyo is finding his groove back and reminding people of how good he is, especially in advanced areas. He thrives in quick transitions and direct attacks, using sudden acceleration and skill to create chances or find the back of the net with instinctive finishes.
  • Evanilson: Evanilson combines technical finesse with hard work and intelligent movement, fitting well into Iraola’s system, especially in fast transitions. He’s selfless and always looking to influence the game by breaking defensive lines, making him a menace in the front line.
  • Marcus Tavernier: Tavernier is the livewire for his team, who brings energy, vision, and technical skills to assist on both ends of the field. He is not the most flashy or entertaining footballer, but he is very efficient and gets the job done. His creativity and vision will be vital in this matchup.

Bournemouth Team News

Tyler Adams (knee) suffered a torn MCL and will miss at least two months out on the sidelines. Veljko Milosavljevic (knee) is set to spend two or three months out due to a knee injury. Ben Doak (hamstring) is expected to return in February next year as he fights his way back from a hamstring injury.

Predicted Line-Up

  1. Brentford: 4-3-3
Kelleher, Kayode, Collins, Van den Berg, Henry, Henderson, Damsgaard, Yarmolyuk, Schade, Lewis-Potter, Thiago

  2. Bournemouth: 4-2-3-1
Petrovic, Smith, Diakite, Senesi, Truffert, Scott, Tavernier, Kluivert, Semenyo, Jimenez, Evanilson

Value Bets

This fixture presents a compelling opportunity to win big for those who value tactical insights and informed analysis.

  1. Goal Scored Between (21-30): This will be an open game from the start, allowing both teams the opportunity to strike early. 24/5 (5.80) with Midnite.

  2. Anytime Goal Scorer (Antoine Semenyo): Semenyo has found his scoring boots again and will be the man to get on the score sheet for the Cherries. 43/20 (3.15) with BetMGM

  3. First Half – First Goal (Brentford). The Bees will start fast and will want to put Bournemouth under pressure from the first whistle. 67/50 (2.34) with William Hill

Prediction: Bournemouth To Win

The stakes are high, and the significant value that a victory holds in this fixture will see both teams have a fair go at each other. Both teams have been poor defensively, but Bournemouth will be able to put Brentford under pressure with their attacking quality and perhaps snatch the victory in unfamiliar territory.
