Bradford City are in advanced talks to bring striker Paul Mullin to the club on loan, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.
The experienced hitman saw his loan deal at Wigan Athletic terminated earlier this month after he failed to fire for the struggling Latics.
Like with many of the club’s promotion heroes, Wrexham have been helping the 31-year-old find his next move.
Sources in Yorkshire have told SportsBoom that the Bantams are looking at a number of targets as Graham Alexander tries to bolster his strike options.
Club legend Andy Cook went on loan to League Two Grimsby Town earlier this month, a deal which will take him to the end of his Bantams’ deal.
It has been a frustrating month for Alexander, who has at numerous times been beaten to his targets during the winter window.
City have lost four of their five games since the turn of the year, with their only win coming at Blackpool who are on the descend themselves.
More worrying is the fact the goal-shy Bantams have netted just three times during their recent run.
Alexander said: “We’re in a league where we're not the biggest fish. We have to understand that and work accordingly.”
“We will strive to do the best for the team and the players. They deserve that. We will strive to improve like we try in every transfer window.”
“It’s tough, it will probably go down to whatever time the window shuts on Monday.”
Mullin was previously linked with a move to Salford City, but a switch to West Yorkshire has proven more appealing to the Wrexham icon.
Point To Prove
Mullin scored four goals in 20 appearances during his time at the Latics.
But Bradford are hopeful they can get the striker back to his former glories.
Mullin famously fired Cambridge United to League Two promotion in the 2020/21 campaign when he netted 32 goals.
He then dropped to non-league with Wrexham and scored 38 in 46 games and 24 in 38 are the Red Dragons went from National League to League One.
Mullin is desperate to prove the naysayers who doubt his ability at third-tier level wrong with his next move.
