Fulham and Brentford have entered the race to sign West Ham right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka after the Hammers’ nightmare relegation from the Premier League, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.

Wan-Bissaka is expected to attract strong interest this summer after a clause in his contract allowed him to leave the London Stadium following relegation to the Championship.

And the DR Congo international is keen to remain in the top flight rather than spend next season battling in the second tier after West Ham’s disastrous campaign.

SportsBoom understands the Cottagers and Bees are ready to test the Hammers' resolve for the former Manchester United defender, with Everton also circling for the 28-year-old in a deal believed to be worth between £10-£15million.

Fulham boss Marco Silva is understood to be a huge admirer of Wan-Bissaka’s defensive qualities and sees the experienced full-back as a player capable of strengthening his side immediately ahead of another Premier League campaign.

DESPERATE

However, a potential move is contingent on whether Silva stays in south-west London, with Benfica understood to be desperate to recruit him as their new manager. The Whites board have already had a contingency plan drawn up in case the Portuguese manager does depart.

Everton are also desperate to bolster their defensive options and has been tracking Wan-Bissaka closely as David Moyes prepares for another major rebuild at Goodison Park.

The defender endured a mixed spell with the Hammers following his £15million switch from Manchester United in August 2024.

Wan-Bissaka arrived in East London on a seven-year contract with expectations high that he could rediscover the form which once made him one of the Premier League’s most feared one-on-one defenders.

But things never truly clicked for either player or club during a miserable period, which ended in relegation.

West Ham were woeful at the London Stadium last season and struggled badly for consistency throughout the campaign as pressure mounted on the squad week after week.

Wan-Bissaka featured in 25 Premier League matches during the season and failed to score, while his overall record for the club stands at 65 appearances across two years in claret and blue.

DISAPPOINTMENT

Despite the disappointment of relegation, the defender still believes he has plenty left to offer at the highest level.

At 28, Wan-Bissaka feels he is entering the peak years of his career and sources close to the player insist he has no interest in dropping out of the Premier League.

The former Crystal Palace star remains highly respected for his pace, tackling ability and recovery defending, qualities which continue to make him an attractive option for clubs searching for proven Premier League experience.

Wan-Bissaka has also earned nine caps for DR Congo and is determined to keep himself competing at the highest level ahead of future international fixtures.

With Fulham and Everton both eager to strike, the race for his signature is now expected to intensify over the coming weeks as West Ham prepares for a major summer clear-out following one of the darkest seasons in the club’s recent history.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is expected to leave West Ham this summer due to a relegation clause in his contract, with the defender prioritising a Premier League move.

Of the early interest, Everton feels the most realistic destination given their need for an established right-back following the exit of club legend Seamus Coleman.
