European clubs are circling one of Argentina’s most promising young midfielders, with SportsBoom understanding that Boca Juniors talent Milton Delgado is attracting growing interest ahead of the summer transfer window.
Sources close to the situation have confirmed that Turkish giants Beşiktaş are among five clubs currently monitoring the 20-year-old defensive midfielder, alongside Premier League trio AFC Bournemouth, Crystal Palace and Everton, as well as Italian heavyweights Inter Milan.
At this stage, no formal bids have been submitted, and personal terms have not been discussed, with all interest remaining at an exploratory level. However, the calibre and volume of clubs tracking Delgado underlines just how highly the Argentine youngster is rated across Europe.
Boca Set Firm Valuation
Delgado signed a new long-term contract with Boca Juniors at the end of 2024, extending his stay until December 2029.
As part of that agreement, Boca inserted a €17.2 million release clause, a figure the club are prepared to stand firm on.
SportsBoom understands Boca have little interest in negotiating below that valuation despite Delgado’s current estimated market value sitting closer to €7 million.
Still, that gap is unlikely to discourage interested clubs. In today’s market, elite young South American talents routinely command premiums well above their listed value, particularly when tied down to long-term contracts with clear release clauses.
Why Delgado Is Generating Buzz
Despite only turning 20, Delgado has already built a reputation as one of the most mature defensive midfield prospects in Argentina.
His ability to recover possession, read danger early and maintain positional discipline has made him stand out, while his composure in high-pressure moments has caught the eye of scouts across Europe.
The Argentine football production line continues to produce elite midfield talent, and Delgado is increasingly viewed as one of the next names capable of making the jump to European football.
What Happens Next?
While no club has yet moved beyond initial enquiries, the level of interest surrounding Delgado suggests the situation could accelerate quickly once the transfer window officially opens.
With Boca holding firm on the €17.2m clause, the race may ultimately come down to which club is prepared to meet the asking price first.
Editor's Insight
The interest from five clubs is genuine, but still early-stage, with no bids or talks underway. Boca’s €17m clause sets a clear benchmark, and unless one of the Premier League sides or Inter decide to move decisively, this is more likely to progress slowly into the window rather than accelerate quickly.
