Exclusive: Fulham Draw Up Emergency Manager Shortlist as Marco Silva Stalls on New Deal

Fulham are facing uncertainty as manager Marco Silva delays signing a new contract amidst a poor run of form, prompting the club to consider potential replacements. Despite recent struggles, Fulham's hierarchy still support Silva but are prepared to look at alternatives if necessary. Silva's current contract expires at the end of the season, with a compensation clause of £15 million. Interested clubs include Nottingham Forest.

Fulham are hastily working on a shortlist of managers to replace Marco Silva if he does not sign a new contract, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.

Tensions are increasing at Craven Cottage with Silva yet to sign the new deal he has been offered.

The West London club are precariously placed just a point above the relegation zone after a poor start to the season.

They entered the current international break with five defeats in their last six league games, with their only win in that time coming at struggling Wolverhampton Wanderers.

But despite their recent woes, the Cottagers’ hierarchy still see Silva as the right man for the job.

Fulham bosses backed their man in the summer and our sources have been told they are disappointed with what they perceive to be a lack of commitment and have been caught on the hop by his reluctance to commit his future to the club.

And the international break may have come at the perfect time with chiefs having the chance to see who is available should Silva turn down a new deal, which they believe would leave them with no option other than giving Silva the axed.

Brendan Rodgers, Erik ten Hag, and Kjetil Knutsen are among the names reportedly being considered to replace Silva, though nothing has been officially confirmed.

Tenure Coming to an End?

Silva's current deal runs out at the end of the season and has a compensation clause of around £15million inserted in the deal.

A number of clubs have enquired about the Spaniard in recent times with Nottingham Forest interested in having Silva replace Nuno Santos earlier this season.

Silva has been at Craven Cottage since 2021, when he replaced Scott Parker, and secured the Championship title in his first campaign and kept the club in the Premier League ever since.
