Ipswich Town Current Form – WWDDW
Ipswich have been flying lately. Their last defeat arrived in a 5-3 thriller away to Wrexham, but since then, they have barely put a foot wrong.
The 2-0 win in their last game away to Sheffield Wednesday was more of a grind; however, they displayed plenty of patience as they netted twice in the last 12 minutes of the game to secure all three points.
Kieran McKenna’s men monopolised possession (68.1%), and they peppered Wednesday’s goal with plenty of attempts, and for a large period, it looked like they would be frustrated.
Against Millwall, the Tractor Boys will need to be patient and stretch the opposition with quick, short passes if they are going to have success.
Key Players to Watch
- Jack Clarke
Strong on the ball and a great dribbler, Jack Clarke is Ipswich’s chief goal threat. With 13 strikes to his name, Clarke will relish getting stuck into Millwall. - Ivan Azon
On target against Wednesday last weekend, Ivan Azon is clever with his movement on and off the ball, and he’s been starting to find some form in front of goal over the past few weeks. - Sindre Egeli
He may only be 19, but Sindre Egeli has come of age in Ipswich colours. The winger makes things happen, and with two goals in his past four league outings, he could make the difference.
Ipswich Town Team News
Wes Burns is the only major injury worry for Ipswich going into the game as he limped off with a calf problem against Wednesday.
Millwall Current Form – WWWWL
After a recent spurt of good form, Millwall surprisingly slipped up at home to Blackburn last weekend.
While there is a slight buffer between them and the other teams occupying or just outside the play-off positions, it was an untimely defeat. Had Millwall won, they would have moved into the automatic promotion spots, but they seemed to run out of energy in the latter stages of the game.
They were sliced open against Rovers, and Alex Neil’s men will need to be more diligent to cut off space through the middle of the park; otherwise, Ipswich could have a field day.
Key Players to Watch
- Femi Azeez
Femi Azeez is a slippery customer as he loves to cut inside and get his shot off early. He’s netted eight times this term, so Ipswich must be mindful. - Josh Coburn
Operating as the lone striker, Josh Coburn likes to have a pop from distance, and he’s been in a bit of a purple patch, netting twice in his past three league outings. - Barry Bannan
A journeyman midfielder who has plenty of Championship experience under his belt
Millwall Team News
Alfie Dougherty (calf) and Casper De Norre (groin) will both be monitored as they sat out the defeat to Blackburn.
Predicted Line-Ups

Millwall (4-2-3-1)
Patterson; McNamara, Crama, Cooper, Sturge, Bannan, Mitchell, Azeez, Neghli, Langstaff; Coburn
Suggested Bets
To get you in the mood for Ipswich Town vs Millwall, we’ve visited one of our preferred bookmakers and picked out a few lines to base our match predictions around.
Both Teams to Score (Yes): Bar the goalless draw earlier this season, this game has generally been entertaining, so the BTTS market appeals. (3/4 with Dragonbet)
First Goal – Ipswich Town: The Tractor Boys have been fast starters against Millwall in recent meetings, so McKenna’s side to open the scoring makes sense here. (13/25 with Betnero)
Ipswich Town Double Chance: Ipswich have won two and drawn one of the last three meetings, so this line is worth latching onto. (2/11 with Swifty Sports)
Value Bets
As well as going for shorter-priced markets, we’ve checked in on one of our trusted football betting operators to see which lines are a bit longer, and therefore, hold more value for Ipswich Town vs Millwall.
Millwall to Win & BTTS: On a previous visit to Portman Road in 2019, Millwall found themselves a goal down, but produced a rousing performance to turn things around and an away win with BTTS has merit. (7/1 with PricedUp)
Femi Azeez (Anytime Scorer): He’s been razor sharp in front of goal at times this season, and Azeez to score at any point across the 90 minutes seems sensible. (10/3 with 247Bet)
Ipswich to Win to Nil: Ipswich have won three of their past five league games to nil, so they could prevail and keep things tight at the back. (2/1 with Best Odds)
Prediction: Ipswich Town to Win
Although it is nip and tuck in the play-off places, this is a crucial game for Ipswich and Millwall to apply more pressure on Middlesbrough.
Nevertheless, Millwall looked a bit lost in the latter stages against Blackburn, and that will be a concern for the fans. Ipswich, on the other hand, are on a roll, and McKenna’s side have fared well against Millwall recently. A home win could be on the cards here.
