Tottenham Current Form – LWWDL

Thomas Frank has had a challenging season with Spurs, marked by inconsistency, especially at home early on, but recent results suggest growing cohesion. The Lilywhites are slowly shifting away from a risk-heavy style and moving towards a more pragmatic, structure-oriented approach, focusing on defensive solidity and direct attacks rather than pure flair and constant possession.

Ahead of this exciting matchup, Spurs have picked up some momentum and look more like a team rather than a group of quality individuals. Despite the defeat to Fulham, they quickly bounced back and earned a massive point away to Newcastle after Cristian Romero scored a late goal in extra time to rescue the draw. Brentford was next, which was a personal match for Frank against his former club.

Frank stood firm, comfortably defeating the Bees in his new home and not allowing the occasion to come in the way of business, which was followed by another convincing victory over Slavia Praha in the UEFA Champions League, making it back-to-back victories at home. Nottingham, however, dismantled Spurs last time out, and a full week of intense preparation is required to face a resurgent Liverpool.

Key Players To Watch

  • Richarlison: Richarlison continues to grow in confidence, despite his antics and aggressive nature. He is versatile, able to play wide or centrally as a main striker, and excellent in counter-attacking situations, where he can display his Brazilian flair and composure to score from various positions.
  • Mohammed Kudus: Kudus is a thrilling, game-changing attacker who excels at disrupting defences with his individual skill, creating something from nothing, and bringing intensity to both ends of the pitch.  Even though he can improve on his decision-making, he is still very effective and lethal in the final third.
  • Xavi Simmons: Despite it taking some time, Simmons is beginning to find his place in this Spurs team. He is a rising star who is a modern, dynamic playmaker who blends technical brilliance with intelligent movement and powerful dribbling, making him a constant threat in advanced and wide areas.

Tottenham Team News

Destiny Udogie (hamstring) is out until the new year as he works on his recovery. Dominic Solanke (ankle) has been fighting an ankle injury that has kept him out for the entire 2025/26 season, but he is hoping to return before the end of the year. Yves Bissouma (ankle) is closing in on a potential return after suffering a serious ankle injury in October. James Maddison (ACL) is back on the training pitch and in the early stages of his recovery after having surgery on his ACL injury.

Liverpool Current Form – WWDDW

Liverpool and Arne Slot, despite being the defending Premier League champions, are going through a difficult period, both on and off the field, which has come as a surprise to many. From uncertainty to inconsistency, the Reds have lacked that cutting edge and dominance, but still possess enough quality to turn their current crisis around and return to their very best.

While the noise continues to get in the way of their progress, Liverpool has maintained their professionalism and has put together a five-game unbeaten streak. After a demoralizing defeat at Anfield against Nottingham, the Reds cut West Ham apart to return to winning ways, which was followed by two very intense draws against Sunderland and Leeds, respectively.

Coming off a confidence-boosting win in the Champions League against Inter Milan, Brighton tested their resilience, with Hugo Ekitike driving them to victory, and now have a chance to make it three wins in a row when they face Spurs. Now back in a respectable position, Slot will want to keep their momentum going and come away with another massive three points.

Key Players To Watch

  • Dominik Szoboszlai: Szoboszlai is the ultimate box-to-box midfielder. He brings balance, energy, and genuine quality in both attack and defence, who fits perfectly into Liverpool’s intense, demanding system. His technical quality and playmaking skills have been instrumental for the Reds.
  • Hugo Ekitike: Ekitike is a dynamic forward who is not just a finisher but a complete attacking presence, combining physical attributes with technical ability and smart playmaking. He excels at finding space, turning defenders, and linking play, acting as both a goal threat and a creative hub in attack.
  • Florian Wirtz: Wirtz is among the best rising stars in the game and has everything to reach his full potential. He has elite close control, dribbling, and vision, making him extremely dangerous in forward areas. Even though it has been a slow start for him, it's only a matter of time until he proves himself.

Liverpool Team News

Wataru Endo (ankle) suffered an ankle injury and is ruled out for several weeks. Cody Gakpo (undisclosed) unfortunately picked up an injury against Leeds and will be out for a few weeks. Jeremie Frimpong (hamstring) has returned after weeks out with a hamstring issue and could be thrown back into the matchday squad for this fixture. Mohamed Salah (AFCON) will join Egypt to compete in the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, Africa’s most prestigious tournament.

Predicted Line-Up

  1. Tottenham: 4-2-3-1
Vicario, Porro, Romero, van de Ven, Spence, Palhinha, Bentancur, Odobert, Simons, Kudus, Richarlison.

  2. Liverpool: 4-4-2
Alisson, Gomez, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson, Gravenberch, Szoboszlai, MacAllister, Wirtz, Ekitike, Isak.

  3. First Half – First Goal (Tottenham). Spurs will be aggressive and intentional from the first whistle. 37/20 (2.85) with William Hill.

Prediction: Liverpool to win

After all the noise, Liverpool have reminded everybody that they are still a force to be reckoned with, and knowing how tough it will be against Tottenham, they will aim to control proceedings while taking advantage of Spurs’ inconsistencies. Their recent form and aggressive approach will be enough to come away from London with all three points.
