Wolverhampton Wanderers will not pursue a deal for Che Adams in the summer transfer window, despite a failed bid on deadline day. With a focus on strengthening their squad for a potential Championship campaign, the club has signed Adam Armstrong and is exploring other striker options. Adams, who has a year left on his contract with Torino, is interested in a return to England after successful spells with Birmingham and Southampton.

Wolverhampton Wanderers will not reignite their interest in striker Che Adams in the summer, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.
The Premier League strugglers saw a last-gasp bid for the former Birmingham City and Southampton hitman turned down by Torino late on deadline day.
Boss Rob Edwards was in the market for a new frontman after the club banked a £48million windfall when Jørgen Strand Larsen moved to Crystal Palace.
Adam Armstrong was a deadline-day acquisition as he penned a three-and-a-half-year deal at Molineux to fill the striker void.
With a summer exodus expected, our sources in the midlands have been told Wolves remain in the market for further reinforcements up front, but it is understood they will turn attention away from Adams after a late move failed to materialise with the Serie A club.
Edwards and the club’s recruitment team have identified a number of potential acquisitions as the club, who are firmly rooted to the foot of the Premier League table, begin their preparations for life in the Championship.
The Wolves’ hierarchy are willing to spend in the summer to ensure the squad is adequately prepared for an immediate promotion push as they desperately try to avoid the fate of the likes of Sunderland and Luton Town who have endured drops further down the football pyramid following relegation from the top flight.
Back To His Roots
It is thought Adams is keen on a return to England, where he starred for both Birmingham and Southampton.
Adams was also linked with a move to Brighton in December, as the Seagulls looked to replace long-serving forward Danny Welbeck, but that transfer never materialised.
He bagged 34 Championship goals in 116 games for Birmingham and scored 41 times in 164 league outings for the Saints across the Championship and Premier League.
Adams penned a three-year deal with Torino in 2024 and will have a year left on his contract come the end of the season.
