Exclusive: Stoke Move to Secure Million Manhoef Amid Interest from Celtic and Belgian Clubs

Stoke City aims to extend Million Manhoef's contract to fend off interest from clubs like Celtic. Talks are imminent as his performances have impressed this season, with Stoke seeing him as key to their promotion plans. Clubs like Genk and Club Brugge are also interested. Manhoef, a right-sided winger, has been a big game player for Stoke since joining in 2024 for £3.5 million, scoring crucial goals to keep the team up. Celtic could make a move once they appoint a new manager.

Stoke City want to tie down Million Manhoef to a contract extension to ward off interest from the likes of Celtic, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.

There was interest from a number of clubs in the summer and our sources understand City bosses are braced for potential suitors to come knocking when the transfer window reopens in January.

And it is understood talks will imminently commence regarding the player’s future at the bet365 Stadium.

Scottish giants Celtic were among a group of clubs circling for the player in the summer.

And Manhoef’s performances during Stoke’s fine start to the season have undoubtedly caught the eye.

The right-sided winger, 23, has scored four goals and provided one assist to put the Potteries firmly in the Championship promotion race.

And SportsBoom understands Mark Robins and co see the left-footed ace as a major part of their promotion plans this term and are not willing to sell him at this key stage of the season.

Celtic are waiting to appoint a permanent new manager, but are ready to test the water once more if their new boss gives the green light.

The Hoops are also reportedly exploring a potential move for legendary Scottish left-back Andy Robertson, whose contract at Liverpool is approaching its final months.

Belgian duo Genk and Club Brugge are also expected to resume their interest in the player.

Big Game Player

Manhoef signed for Stoke in the winter window of 2024 for a fee in the region of £3.5million from Vitesse Arnhem.

And it is understood Stoke would want considerably more than that to consider parting ways with one of their key figures if he wanted to leave the club.

In his first campaign at the club, Manhoef bagged four goals in the final six games to keep the club up and last term hit five goals as the Potters once again escaped relegation.

Now in a stronger line-up, the wing wizard has already notched four goals and is aiming for double figures this term.
