Exclusive: Brentford Weigh Up Move for Sheffield United Midfielder Sydie Peck
Brentford are considering a move for Sheffield United's Sydie Peck, with West Ham also interested. Peck's impressive form has caught the eye of both clubs, as recruitment experts compile a dossier on the young midfielder. The player's London roots and coaching connections make Brentford an appealing option, while doubts about United's future could prompt a potential transfer.

Brentford are weighing-up the possibility of joining West Ham in the race for Sheffield United’s Sydie Peck, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.
Keith Andrews’ side have been monitoring the young midfielder’s progress since midway through last term, when his Bramall Lane team mate Oliver Arblaster was also a target.
Although a serious injury to the latter forced The Bees to put that particular scouting mission on hold, the one focusing on Peck has continued to gather pace with recruitment experts at the G-tech Stadium compiling an extensive dossier on his capabilities.
The Hammers are also confirmed admirers of the 21-year-old and had been considering submitting a bid for his services during next month’s transfer window.
But they could soon face competition for the former Arsenal youngster, with Brentford adding his name to a list of potential new signings which fit both their budget and profile.
Andrews, who took charge of The Bees during the close season, already has an extensive knowledge of Peck having briefly been a member of Chris Wilder’s coaching staff before joining Thomas Frank in the capital.
Intriguingly, the Irishman hired another member of Wilder’s backroom team, Jack Lester, after accepting the head coach’s position following Frank’s switch to Tottenham Hotspur.
Although Lester works predominately with strikers, he is known to have helped Peck hone the finishing skills which have seen him net three times in 20 appearances so far this season.
PROPOSITION
Their presence, combined with the fact the player hails from London, would make Brentford an attractive proposition should they decide to swoop.
West Ham’s interest in Peck predates Nuno Espirito Santo’s appointment, which could also have a bearing on the outcome of what is shaping-up to be a keenly competitive race given the Portuguese’s refusal to use talent he did not personally select whilst at Nottingham Forest.
Having started his career in Arsenal’s youth system, Peck headed north in 2021 and completed a stint on loan with Oldham Athletic before making his United debut, against The Bees, two years later.
Wilder has no intention of losing a key member of his squad anytime soon. However, with doubts about the longevity of the consortium which controls The Blades continuing to swirl around South Yorkshire and his side struggling near the foot of the Championship table, top-flight outfits know United’s hierarchy could be tempted to cash-in should a suitable offer arrive.
