Brighton & Hove Albion vs Brentford & Hove Albion Preview: Odds, Tips and Prediction

Date: November 22, 2025 Venue: Amex Stadium Kickoff Time: 17:00 On one side, we have Brighton (11th), the masters of the meticulous build-up. They are one of the most aesthetically pleasing teams to watch, comfortable in possession, and with their high press. However, recent performances have shown they sometimes lack that cutting edge, especially in the final third when they create and find ways to get in on goal. On the other side stand the fiercely resilient Brentford (12th). The Bees will be riding a wave of confidence, and rightfully so, due to putting in some inspiring performances. They are immensely physical, transitional side, perfectly happy to give up possession and then explode on the counter-attack. Will Brighton’s intricate, ball-playing style unlock a stubborn Brentford defence, or will the Bees’ physical presence and direct attack sting the Seagulls at home?

Brighton Current Form – DWLLW

The Seagulls under Fabian Hurzeler are still a joy to watch, characterized by slick passing, high pressing, and a flair for the dramatic. However, their consistency has been tested. They sit on 16 points (4 wins, 4 draws, 3 losses) and are looking to climb back into the top half of the table after a mixed run of results. While they have shown to dismantle any team on the day, they have also struggled for clean sheets and have dropped points in matches they are expected to win.

During the last five games, the Seagulls came away with a point in the derby against Crystal Palace, comfortably defeated Leeds, then got knocked out of the EFL Cup by league leaders Arsenal, and lost to Man United at Old Trafford, but won at Amex against Newcastle, demonstrating their inconsistency but ability to take on any team at the same time. The Amex has been a tough place to visit, and a win will see them not only climb into the top half but also extend their unbeaten record at home to four games.

Key Players To Watch

  • Jan Paul van Hecke: The Dutch defender exudes confidence and belief in himself. His unmatched competitive spirit, coupled with his excellent passing range and strong defensive presence in aerial duels, has seen him become a crucial player for the Seagulls. He is a consistent performer, and while his primary job is to stop danger, he can also score goals and is very effective in set-piece situations.
  • Yankuba Minteh: Minteh is a speedy and agile left-footed winger known for his explosive dribbling, high work rate, and defensive contributions. He is a dynamic ball carrier who loves to take on defenders in one-on-one situations, utilizing his speed and agility to penetrate defensive lines. Beyond his attacking attributes, Minteh is also a clinical finisher.
  • Diego Gomez: When you talk about a dynamic box-to-box midfielder, you have to mention Diego Gomez, who has become a midfield powerhouse for the Seagulls. He is effective at breaking up plays and winning the ball through hard physical tackles and interceptions. Additionally, Gomez has good passing ability and can create opportunities in the final third.

Brighton Team News

James Milner (strain) is still recovering, and his timeline for return is uncertain. Brajan Gruda (knee) is nearing a return after making great progress through his recovery. Kaoru Mitoma (ankle) could see himself in the match-day squad after time on the sidelines. Solly March (knee) is running on the pitch but is expected to return by late December.

Brentford Current Form – WLWWW

Just behind their hosts on goal difference, Brentford also sit on 16 points from 11 games (5 wins, 1 draw, 5 losses), arriving with a reputation for tenacity and an ability to grind out results. Their form has seen recent highs, despite coming in with a coach with very little Premier League experience at the helm. The Bees excel at transitions and set-pieces, making them a constant threat. They are a team built on resilience and have demonstrated a knack for delivering big performances when it truly matters

A string of three consecutive victories against West Ham away, followed by a remarkable victory at home over defending champions Liverpool, and advancing to the next round in the EFL Cup after sweeping Grimsby aside, brought a level of confidence that had been missing. However, this unbeaten streak was stopped by Crystal Palace, and it was back to the drawing board for Keith Andrews, who prevailed after returning to winning ways against Newcastle, demonstrating their character and form across the last five fixtures after overcoming yet another big name.

Key Players To Watch

  • Igor Thiago: Thiago is a proven goal scorer who somehow finds himself in the right place at the right time. His high work rate is commendable, and selfless pressing from the front has been exceptional for the Bees. He is very good at identifying space and making well-timed runs to get into dangerous positions, including scoring with both feet and his head.
  • Mikkel Damsgaard: Damsgaard is a modern, versatile attacking midfielder known for his creativity, tactical intelligence, and technical skill. He is press-resistant and good at quick give-and-go passes, where he can operate and terrorize defences in the final third with his eye-catching dribbling as well as playmaking ability. His high work rate also allows him to contribute in defence and initiate attacks from deep.
  • Caoimhin Kelleher: Kelleher has been a top acquisition for Brentford. He is a great shot stopper, shows impressive calmness on the ball, and is not afraid to play out from the back. His distribution is commendable and shows bravery by coming off his line to claim crosses as well as close down attackers, which brings a sense of security for the team.

Brentford Team News

Antoni Milambo has had successful surgery and is set for a long recovery period out on the sidelines. Josh DaSilva is still regaining fitness from his torn ACL, but is doing pretty well and has seen progress, as the midfielder has returned to training on the grass.
