Head-to-Head Record
Premier League head-to-head records serve a purpose, so let’s reminisce on how past matches between Brighton and Brentford have unfolded:
22/11/25: Brighton & Hove Albion 2-1 Brentford
19/04/25: Brentford 4-2 Brighton & Hove Albion
03/04/2024: Brentford 0-0 Brighton
03/04/24: Brentford 0-0 Brighton & Hove Albion
06/12/23: Brighton & Hove Albion 2-1 Brentford
Brentford Current Form – WLLWW
Although the defeat at home to Nottingham Forest was disappointing, Brentford have bounced back with some terrific displays.
Although they played most of the 1-0 win over Aston Villa with 10 men after Kevin Schade’s dismissal, they showed grit to get over the line, and they were superb in the 3-2 victory away to Newcastle.
Andrews has made his side a well-drilled unit, and at times, tough to break down. Brighton will have to be inventive if they are going to have any joy.
Key Players to Watch
- Igor Thiago
A deadly presence up front, Igor Thiago has been sensational for Brentford this term. With 17 league goals, only Erling Haaland (21) has netted more frequently than the Brazilian, so Brighton will need a game plan to keep him quiet. - Jordan Henderson
With plenty of Premier League experience under his belt, Jordan Henderson brings a sense of calm, and he oozes class . A few more goals wouldn’t go amiss, but he’s chipped in with three assists this term. - Caoimhin Kelleher
Although he failed to make the grade at Liverpool, Caoimhin Kelleher has turned in some excellent performances between the sticks for Brentford, and he’s a good shot-stopper.
Brentford Team News
Brentford currently have three players out, all with knee injuries, but it remains to be seen whether Andrews will shake things up for the visit of the Seagulls.
Brighton & Hove Albion Current Form – DDLDL
It hasn’t been for the want of trying, but things just haven’t clicked for Brighton & Hove Albion this season.
More worryingly, a sequence of two defeats and three draws in their past five outings underlines Brighton’s struggles.
Although they can be exciting to watch on the counter, they are in danger of being sucked into a relegation dogfight if they aren’t careful, but the fans just need to be patient with Fabian Hurzeler as they seek to turn things around.
Key Players to Watch
- Danny Welbeck
Although he’s no spring chicken, Danny Welbeck’s versatility and experience count for a lot. He’s chipped in with eight league goals, so his value shouldn’t be overstated. - Kaoru Mitoma
Diminutive, but quick and exciting on the move, Kaoru Mitoma may have only scored twice in the league this season, but he can change games with the flick of a switch, so Brentford must be wary. - Lewis Dunk
A commanding presence at the back, Lewis Dunk’s aerial ability is undeniable and he reads the game very well.
Brighton & Hove Albion Team News
Brighton & Hove Albion are bereft of a few players for the trip to Brentford, including Adam Webster and Solly March (both knee).
Predicted Line-Ups
Brentford (4-2-3-1)
Kelleher; Kayode, Ajer, van den Borg, Henry, Henderson, Janelt, Ouattara, Jensen, Lewis-Potter; Thiago
Brighton & Hove Albion (4-2-3-1)
Verbruggen; Kadioglu, Dunk, Boscagli, De Cuyper, Groß, Baleba, Howell, Rutter, Mitoma; Kostoulas
Suggested Bets
Premier League sportsbooks are well stocked with odds, and here are some football betting tips worth leaning into.
Both Teams to Score (Yes): In three of the past five league meetings, both teams have hit the net, which would suggest we could be in for an exciting game. This line is worth tapping into. (13/20 with William Hill)
First Goal – Brentford: The Bees opened the scoring against Brighton in the corresponding fixture earlier in the season, but went on to lose. This should be followed up on, but Brentford will be hoping for a different outcome this time. (39/50 with Unibet)
Over 2.5 Goals: The last two league meetings has seen the Over 2.5 goals line surpassed, so this market shouldn’t be passed up on. (7/10 with Betway)
Value Bets
There are plenty of value bets knocking about, and don’t forget about using a welcome bonus either:
Brentford to Win to Nil: Brentford have been looking in good nick, and against Villa, they kept a clean sheet with their backs to the wall. A win without conceding offers good value. (3/1 with Spreadex)
First Goalscorer – Igor Thiago: This season, Thiago has been in blistering form, and he could well strike out first, opening the scoring in this game. He broke the deadlock when Brentford last met Brighton. (3/1 with BetMGM)
Total Corners (Over 11.5): The past couple of clashes have seen plenty of corners handed out, and the Over 11.5 mark has been hit. Over 11.5 corners across the 90 minutes is attainable. (17/10 with Leovegas)
Prediction: Brentford to Win
Brentford have been good value for money over the past few weeks, and they have the wind in their sails. Brighton & Hove Albion are flirting with danger, and trying to keep Thiago quiet will be a tough ask.
Given the way Brighton’s season has panned out, they could be in for a tough afternoon at the Gtech Community Stadium. Although Brighton won the corresponding fixture, Brentford could turn the tables and come out on top this time.
