Fluminense Brazilian striker John Kennedy has entered the radar of European clubs with his recent form and performance.
SportsBoom can exclusively reveal that Kennedy has attracted intense interest from Udinese, Cagliari, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Watford following the increase in his goal tally for his team.
Italian Interest and English Club Bidding Preparations
SportsBoom has been told that Italian Serie A outfits Udinese and Cagliari are preparing to establish contact by primarily inquiring about the situation of the player.
Wolves, who aim to return to the Premier League, plan to submit their opening bid in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, Watford in the Championship have completed their preparations for a €10 million offer for Kennedy.
Watford are known to have an active scouting presence in South America and have also been linked with Athletico Paranaense forward Kevin Viveros as part of their ongoing search for attacking reinforcements.
The stance on the Fluminense front remains clear. The club management opened the door for the transfer fee of the player at a range between €15 million.
Although no official offer has arrived yet, it is emphasised that offers below these figures will be strictly rejected. The factor playing a role in the Brazilian side maintaining their stubborn seller attitude and setting this price range is that the contract of Kennedy continues for approximately 2 more years alongside his recent rising performance graph.
The Tactical Transformation and Copa Libertadores Success
The transformation of Kennedy at Fluminense after the 2024/25 season is the most important factor increasing his suitors.
The forward, who previously experienced a period with a low goal ratio, played a major role in the rise of his team in the league and in maintaining their ambition in the Copa Libertadores with the critical goals he scored in recent weeks.
His physical strength, aerial presence and finishing inside the penalty box transform him into the typical forward profile sought after by European clubs.
Especially Wolves and Watford believe that he will easily adapt to the tempo of the Premier League and Championship.
Serie A sides Udinese and Cagliari are searching for a more experienced forward with a low adaptation cost.
The consistent performance of Kennedy in the Brazilian League appears as an ideal option for them. Both Italian clubs are shaping their projects to guarantee regular game time for the player.
According to sources close to SportsBoom, although no club has started official negotiations yet, offers are expected to be put on the table in June 2026. The hot pursuit environment could also drive up the transfer price of Kennedy, and all demands must be in high amounts to meet the expectations of Fluminense.
Editor's Insight
Wolves look the most likely landing spot at this stage, with their willingness to move first and push an early bid giving them an edge. Watford’s €10m approach may not be enough unless others hesitate, while the Serie A interest feels more exploratory than decisive right now. If Fluminense hold firm at €15m, this could quickly become a timing game rather than a bidding war.
