Ryan Alebiosu closed the 2025/26 season as the brightest name for Blackburn Rovers.

The 24-year-old Nigerian right back recorded 5 assists in 39 matches in the Championship.

Reaching a speed of 37 kilometres per hour and overwhelming his opponents with his physical superiority, Alebiosu displayed a highly balanced performance in terms of both defence and attacking contribution. This two-way contribution carried the player among the most interesting wing-backs in the league.

According to information obtained by SportsBoom Rangers, West Ham United and Genoa are closely monitoring Alebiosu.

Blackburn Attitude and Price Tag

Returning Blackburn boss Tony Mowbray, who took over after Michael O’Neill turned down the role permanently, would be keen to keep Alebiosu as part of his plans moving forward.

His contract continues until 2028, and this situation gives Blackburn a certain power at the bargaining table.

The club plans to set a price tag in the region of £3 million to £5 million for Alebiosu. This gap is a clear indicator that the club views the real value of the player much higher than market data.

According to sources close to SportsBoom, Blackburn will approve the sale if the right offer arrives. The financial situation of the club and the need to ensure stability in the league make this transfer 1 of the most realistic scenarios of the summer period.

Rangers: The Strongest Candidate

The most concrete step in this race comes from Rangers.

The Scottish giants are in urgent need of a right back position and Alebiosu is an ideal profile to fill this gap. S

portsBoom can exclusively reveal that Rangers are preparing a formal offer for Alebiosu and view him as a priority signing for the upcoming season.

The £3 million to £5 million figure demanded by Blackburn is at an affordable level for Rangers.

An agreement is also expected to be reached with the player regarding personal terms. This transfer stands out as the scenario that can close the fastest.

West Ham Long-Term Monitoring

West Ham United has been keeping Alebiosu on its radar for a long time.

Searching for cost-effective and Premier League-ready profiles in the Championship, the Hammers evaluate that Alebiosu fits this criterion. Speed, physics and two-way contribution capacity are elements that can create value in the Premier League.

Whether West Ham treats this transfer as a priority agenda item has not gained clarity yet. But after a long monitoring period, it is not out of the question for this summer to transform into a concrete step.

Genoa Surprise Interest from Italy

The involvement of Genoa adds an unexpected dimension to this race.

The Italian club is searching for an athletic right back who can contribute to the attack.

The profile of Alebiosu can answer this need. Playing in Serie A is an attractive career option for the player. However, whether Genoa can meet a transfer fee in the £3 million to £5 million band remains a question mark.

Rangers feel like the most advanced move here, with structure, need, and price all aligning. West Ham’s interest looks more observational than urgent, while Genoa would need to move quickly to disrupt. If there’s a betting angle, Rangers are the early value pick to land Alebiosu unless a Premier League bid suddenly escalates.
