Juventus midfielder Khéphren Thuram placed himself right at the centre of the transfer agenda in both Türkiye and England.
Fenerbahce and Galatasaray have both shown strong interest in the 25-year-old French midfielder. But Thuram gave a negative response to both Turkish giants.
According to information obtained by SportsBoom, Nottingham Forest have launched preliminary contacts with Juventus in recent hours.
Additionally, Manchester United and Liverpool form the real heavyweights of this race. The Premier League giants monitor the situation of the midfielder, but whether they will submit an offer has not gained clarity yet.
The attitude of Thuram remains extremely clear.
Saudi clubs approached last year, but it was not accepted. In January 2026, an offer worth €50 million arrived from Al Ahli, and it was rejected.
Galatasaray and Fenerbahce were also turned away at the door.
Thuram prefers to remain in Turin. But the financial situation of Juventus will not always protect this preference.
The Challenging Position of Juventus
Juventus sits under serious financial pressure after failing to qualify for the Champions League.
The club could be forced to sell its key assets.
Thuram ranks at the very top of this list. He is not officially for sale. But if a significant offer arrives, the door remains open.
According to sources close to SportsBoom, Juventus expects a figure in the region of €50 million to €55 million for the player.
In March 2026, this expectation was raised to €60 million. In May 2026, it was reported that Galatasaray evaluated an offer of around €35 million. This figure remains below the current demand of Juventus.
Forest Early But Bold Move
The involvement of Nottingham Forest adds an unexpected dimension to this file.
The club made the initial sounding to evaluate the probability of negotiating with Juventus. An official offer does not exist yet. But this early move reveals how ambitious the Premier League club truly are.
Sitting at the table for a player at the level of Thuram represents a bold strategy.
United and Liverpool: The Real Threat
Manchester United designated Thuram as a priority target this summer.
The profile of Thuram fits the midfield plan of Michael Carrick extremely well.
Liverpool is in play with a different motivation. SportsBoom can exclusively reveal that Liverpool are considering Thuram as a direct replacement for Curtis Jones and are monitoring the situation closely.
For Liverpool, looking for a midfielder who will add physical strength and ball-winning capacity to their system, Thuram draws an ideal profile.
The personal preference of Thuram also remains decisive in this equation. If Juventus is forced to sell, he wants to move to the Premier League. United and Liverpool possess a clear advantage against other suitor clubs in this aspect.
Editor's Insight
Forest’s early contact feels opportunistic rather than decisive, with United and Liverpool still the real pace-setters in this race. Thuram staying in Turin remains the base case for now, but Juventus’ financial pressure is the real swing factor.
