Jay Stansfield has placed himself at the centre of one of this summer's most active Premier League transfer files.

The 23-year-old English forward of Birmingham City sits on the active radar of Everton, Sunderland, Ipswich Town and Hull City.

According to information obtained by SportsBoom, all four clubs are monitoring the player closely and preparing to take concrete steps.

But Birmingham holds an extremely strong position in this race. The contract of Stansfield continues until 2031. The club does not have to rush and will not.

The price expectation of Birmingham is clear. According to sources, the club closes the door to any offer below €30 million to €35 million for Stansfield. This figure might look high by Championship standards. But for a 23-year-old profile with a long contract who is ready for the Premier League, this price is defensible.

Why Is Stansfield So Valuable

Stansfield managed to attract the attention of Premier League clubs with his performance in the Championship this season. His physical capacity, his goal productivity and his effectiveness in the penalty box carried him among the most exciting young forwards in England.

He represents a profile that is effective in aerial duels and dangerous in ground play. This dual threat makes him a strong representative of the complete forward profile demanded by the modern Premier League.

Birmingham have also been linked with standout League One attacker Reyes Cleary at Barnsley and could reinvest a portion of any Stansfield fee to land the South Yorkshire winger.

Everton Moyes Search for a Forward

Everton stands as one of the strongest candidates in this race.

Manager David Moyes wants to add a hardworking and goal-producing forward to his attacking line. Stansfield fits this profile directly. It is known that the Toffees prioritise English forwards within their plan to create a competitive squad in the Premier League.

The €30 million to €35 million figure is at a financially affordable level for Everton, but as the transfer window progresses, a fee around the €25 mark is more realistic.

Sunderland, Ipswich and Hull

The involvement of Sunderland and Ipswich Town adds a different dimension to this race.

Both clubs are after ambitious transfers this summer to remain permanent in the Premier League. Stansfield represents a profile that can sit right at the centre of these plans. He is a player who possesses a Championship background and can complete his adaptation to the top league quickly.

The presence of Hull City on the list forms the most surprising dimension of this file.

Having earned promotion to the Premier League, Hull wants to show through their transfer policy that they want to be taken seriously this season.

Adding a profile like Stansfield to their squad would send a strong message that the club has major targets. But meeting the figure demanded by Birmingham will represent a serious financial test for Hull.

The Trump Card of Birmingham

The contract extending until 2031 is the biggest trump card in the hands of Birmingham. The club can wait.

If the right offer does not arrive, keeping Stansfield in the Championship this season as well is not out of the question. The competition among the four clubs pushes the price upwards. Birmingham will use this dynamic very well.

SportsBoom can exclusively reveal that no formal bids have been submitted to Birmingham City at this stage.

But the simultaneous interest of four Premier League clubs is the clearest signal that this file will break out in the middle of summer.

Stansfield looks like one to watch for a Premier League move this summer, with Everton appearing the most natural fit given their need for a hardworking No.9. Sunderland and Ipswich offer more guaranteed minutes, but Everton’s pull and project could edge it.
