Burnley’s top scorer Zian Flemming is not expected to remain at Turf Moor following the club’s relegation to the Championship, with Premier League interest already building in the forward.

SportsBoom understands that newly-promoted sides Ipswich Town and Coventry City are both monitoring his situation after leapfrogging the Clarets this season.

Market’s New Favourite

Though the season ended in heartbreak for Burnley, Flemming proved his quality once again.

His 11 goals in 30 appearances aren't just stats, they are a certification of his top-tier clinical finishing. And the signals from the player’s camp are clear, after such a productive individual run, Flemming has no intention of continuing his career in the Championship. He is eyeing the big stage where he belongs.

Burnley’s Financial Deadlock

The financial squeeze of relegation and dwindling broadcast revenues are forcing Burnley into a major operation on their wage bill.

Flemming’s current salary is a heavy burden by Championship standards.

According to sources close to SportsBoom, the Burnley board is ready to listen to offers in the €20 million bracket. This figure protects the player’s market value while injecting the "hot cash" needed for the club’s new season squad planning.

Transfer Radar

Flemming is currently a priority target on several radars. The shortlist includes serious suitors not just from the UK, but from across Europe.

The interest from Coventry and Ipswich is an open secret.

The real excitement is that the player’s representatives have already knocked on the doors of Everton and Leeds United. Everton, in particular, views Flemming as an ideal value-for-money attacking option.

Serie A and Eredivisie sides are also monitoring the situation second-by-second. While a return to the Netherlands is on the table, the player’s priority is staying in the Premier League shop window.

No official bids have landed yet and talks haven't reached the "finalising" stage, but the phone traffic between agents is reaching an all-time high.

Flemming’s contract status remains Burnley’s biggest ace at the table. However, his refusal to play in the Championship slightly weakens their hand. His profile suggests he isn’t just a goalscorer, he’s a "second striker" who heavily contributes to the build-up play.

A late move from a club like Everton with a bid around €15-20 million could see negotiations fast-tracked. Conversely, if Leeds wants to build a powerhouse squad for a permanent Premier League return, Flemming would be the ideal pick.

If a transfer specials market opens for Zian Flemming, Leeds United look the cleaner tactical fit given their high-energy, vertical style that suits his movement between the lines. However, Everton’s lack of a settled striker makes them equally compelling, with neither Beto nor Thierno Barry fully convincing in the role.
